The heavy golden army was made to fit me perfectly. My chest plate holding the golden flame symbol.
It was time.
I remember the time I had hated like this before, where my heart was cold against humans. I took a deep Breath.
I once was a prisoner and outcast...now? Now I am king of man and beast alike.
My queen was human, my first man was a woman which was a fairy. I was not the man or dragon I had been when I was in that dungeon. I was a King and as many kings before me I must protect my people.
I turned to face my legions of warriors. Men and women, giants and dwarves. We had finally come together. My heart swelled with pride.
My children and theirs after would see this...a nation of peace...
Children....
The child in my dream. I thought of how beautiful she was. She was what I am fighting for.
Everyone was lining to leave as my plan had instructed. I was to go last. Troops were already leaving and my spies had set out a week in advance.
Trangus walked to me and bowed. He and Shelia was the last of the dragons loyal to me. They had rejected my uncle and stayed hidden.
"My king. Please let my sister and I ride by your side. We could bait him out for you. My lord I will protect you with my life." He held his hand over his heart and his words were true. I would need them. I nodded and took a deep breathe. The winds were changing.
Good...war and rain would good to stop the fire breathers...
I went to meet Aura in the garden. I had been so busy readying for war I hadn't even seem her very much. She was so worried it had her sickly. The maids had been caring for her in the last month.
She stood around the flowers looking like a sunray itself. She glowed. I smelled the air...it was full of honey and lavender.
I walked to her and fell to my knees. I didn't deserve her. I wrapped my arms around her and laid my head on her stomach.
I furrowed my brow...
"My King..." She smiled down on me and kissed my forehead. "I have missed you."
Something was upsetting me...my fire grew now that I was close to her. I sniffed the air. My scales raised...
"There is something I need to tell you before you go my love. Please rise.." She looked distressed.
I sensed it! It was close...stalking me? Was it Shelia? Trangus? I pulled my sword.
I smelled it...sensed it..it was faint but it was close.
She was furious. She smacked me on the back of my head....my eyes widened. I frowned and huffed.
"Aura...there is something near...I smell..."
"Syferus you fool...I know...I know because..." She sighed...
The smell was unmistakeable.... It was
"I'm with child.."
Brimstone.
