As I walled the familiar stone halls I slew them one by one. Man after creature they came in hoards. No matter to me. This was my home once and I would never let them soil it.

My heart my heavy as I walled, my sword scarped upon the marble floors. It pained me to kill these men with such ease. They did not have a chance. My body had grown broad and strong, I now had a beard and my features were much stronger. I was no longer a boy, I was man, a king, a dragon king.

The halls were empty now. I heard my footsteps echo. My anticipation rose right along with my fire.

I could hear them from the main hall, music burst from the room with such merriness. I turned to the large oak doors. I frowned, these doors once held my father upon the throne, strong, kind, and alive.

I pushed them open, there it was before me a festival. Jesters and dancers, eating and laughter. It was as if there was no war existent around them. It was a farewell...just as the one my father had.

On the golden throne sat my uncle, perched with a crown and kings wear. Below him was Amina dancing for her father.

I walked towards them. The festival continued. A few dragons looked my way with hatred in their eyes.

"Look who we have here!.." He stood as he made his speech. "..the dragon king himself...the traitor," His eyes creased in hatred.

Hatred...was that what I felt as well?

"Uncle...I beg of you now...stop this...I do not want to kill you.." Part of me meant that.

"You want me to surrender?... Well...you'll have to beg better than that!" He hissed.

I took a deep breath and sighed. I had no choice. As kings before me it was my duty.

I walked forward, it was time. Before I could reach the stage three dragons had transformed and aimed towards me.

One swooped in from the left toppling tables and sending servants running. In the moment I thought of the tables turned when I had ventured here and saw my fathers death.

The dragon blew it's breath engulfing me in heat killing a number of bystanders.

I took a deep breath and stretched my arms. That seemed to irritate it even more. It let out a fearsome roar. The other two dragons were perched in front of my uncle snarling viciously at me. Amina was at the foot of her father looking hurt.

I decided it was time to get this over with, I stretched out my hand and pulled it towards me, the dragon came with it. The snarling stopped as the dragon hit the floor unable to move. I balled my hand into a fist, it cried out in pain. I tightened my fist as I approached the throne. Finally I released my fist snapping my wrist forward, it died. There was no movement, I had broken it's neck.

My uncle fell back onto the throne baffled. His cup fell at Amina's feet. She had a tear in her eye.

She knew they didn't have a chance.
