Chapter 20

Brian's pov

I arrived at the party to see that there was a girl on the ground with a large huddle around her. I quickly jog over to the huddle to see what's happening. When I finally got to see what everyone was staring at I saw that there was a beat up looking girl lying on the ground.

There was blood leaking out of her nose and mouth, she was not a pretty sight. She finally got up, and brushed her self off. "Ugh. Clyde! That fucking bitch." She muttered to herself. I was surprised, Clyde had done this too her? "Hey" I said walking up to the disheveled girl. "Is the girl who beat you up a girl with blue eyes, brown hair, and a nose piercing?" I asked. She stared at me for a while. "Yea, you know her?" The girl said studying my face. I nodded, "Yea, she's sort of my girlfriend." I answered. "Oh right you must be Ben."  She frowned. "Brian, actually." I corrected her. "What?" She asked. "My name. It's Brian, not Ben." I said trying to clear things up. "Whatever Ben, if it wasn't for you and Clyde my brother and I wouldn't be in this mess." She said nonchalantly, messing my name up again. "Sorry?" I apologized, not really knowing what she meant.

I called Clyde a few times while Kira started walking off without me until she paused and looked back at me. "Come on, we have a lot to talk about."

***

Kira had explained to me Clyde's entire back story. Starting from before Clyde became the way she was up until when she beat up Kira. Everything Kira had said made it clear why Clyde was so needy and jealous, it was because she had been burned so many times by other guys. I hate to be one of those guys, but Kira was just trying to help her little brother. I really don't think I want to be with Clyde after what she did tonight.

"So yea, that pretty much sums it up." Kira said sarcastically smiling at me. "I can't believe it. Clyde used to be a goody two shoes huh?" I responded, a little surprised. "You're a great sister you know that? Fighting with your best friend just to help your brother." I smiled, scooting closer. "That's pretty cool of you." I added. "Um, thanks I think I'm cool too." She says trying to show she was uninterested, but she totally was. "Why couldn't I have met you first?" I said leaning in, so our faces were only inches apart. "Because everything happens for a reason." Kira whispered. She leaned in to get rid of the space between us. I really did wish I met Kira first, she's so much more interesting and relatable than Clyde is. Clyde was just becoming a little too much for me now.

We pulled apart breathless, and she rested her forehead on mine. "We should uh... hang out some time." She mumbled. I laughed, "I would like that."

Kira walked out of the room the host had lent us so she could get a drink. I sat against the wall, and started to think of Clyde again. She would fall apart if I broke up with her, she needed to be with someone. Why do I have to be that someone? Since I've been doing so much "college" stuff, Clyde wouldn't even notice if I was out another hour or two to be with Kira. I could help Clyde and have the girl that I actually want. It's a win win scenario.

I haven't really been applying to college. I felt bad for lying to Clyde, but she was boring me. I just couldn't dump her and leave her broken. I really did like Clyde when we started dating, but now I lost all respect for her.

Kira, was a totally different story. Just by looking at her you can tell she's a fun and interesting person to be around. I want Kira.

Clyde will never have to know.

~~~
I didn't want to jump into the action just yet so I decided to drag it out a little more. I hope y'all had a good valentines day! sorry this was a filler but I'm having some serious writers block and I just sort of like try to make do with this chapter. So um see you next week... hopefully.
