Chapter 9
Clyde's POV
Running and running and running and running.
Why was this guy so fast? I was running with Drew, my left shoe in his hand.
Okay that's it. I'm tired of running. I stop, and Drew yells at me to keep going. Alex (smelly guy) slowed and started smirking at me. once he gets close enough I go crazy on him. Kicking, scratching, and punching I make sure he won't get up for a while. I look over to Drew and he is in shock, standing there, eyes as wide as saucers and a mouth that's about to catch flies.
"Can I have my shoe now?" I ask annoyed with his expression. He slowly and hesitantly extends his arm handing me my pink Vans shoe. I slip the shoe on my blackened foot. "I will uh see you later then." I said turning towards the direction of my house. "Clyde..." Drew draws out. "What?!" I snap at him. His crestfallen look calms me down. "You know your house is far away, and I think we need to talk about what just happened." I sigh feeling guilty about snapping at him. "Oh yea. Do you have a plan?" The corner of his mouth tilted up. "I always have a plan."
Drew ended up calling a cab to take us home. The ride was about twenty minutes long. We didn't talk much, because I was stressed about the Alex thing. I want to know what he was going to ask or tell me, but I couldn't get risked getting hurt.
We arrived at Drew's house, I said my thanks and waited for Max to pick me up. "I could take you home you know." Drew says sitting beside me on the porch bench. "It's okay, really. Max is picking up me up anyway." I smiled half-heartedly. He sighed, "He is no good for you Clyde."
Ugh there he goes acting like I'm a fragile piece of glass that could be shattered at a single touch. It's not like he's my dad, trying to be overprotective of the boy I date.
My dad...
I haven't talked to him lately. It's not like my parents split or anything like that, but he works late at the shop all the time and I never get a chance to talk to him. It's not like he needs to work either, we're fucking rich. I think he stays there so he doesn't have to deal with his problem child that awaits at home.
"Clyde? Are you even listening to me?" Drew asked obviously annoyed with me. "Whatever Drew. I'm going home. Peace out Girl Scout." I said flashing him the peace sign. I turned around and started walking towards my house which happened to be right down the street.
I can't believe I was going home. I haven't been there since I was kicked out. I wonder what my mom will say, but I don't really care I just want to see her again.
I quickly sent max a text.
Me: Hey, heading back home don't bother picking me up.
Max: Didn't you get kicked out though?
Me: Yea but I'm living that rebel life.
Max: Haha okay. Text me if anything.
Me: Alright see you tomorrow.
Max: K Bye.
Then I was standing in front of the door. What do I do? Should I use my key, knock, or just leave.
I decide to use my key, because you know this is sort of my house.
I walk in to see my dad putting his keys on the counter. "Uh hi dad." I smile. I missed him so much. He flashed me his 100 watt smile that killed most of my 'friends'. He scooped me up in a hug, crushing my ribs. "Clyde I've missed you!" He says still crushing my ribs. "I've missed you too dad." I don't even know when I last saw him, its been too long.
Way too long.
