Chapter ThirteenI started running towards him and grabbed him by the arm.
"What is your problem?" I asked.
"I don't have one,". He said with a grim expression.
"I'm not stupid! You left a conversation unfinished and rushed out!"
He looked down and shook his head. "You're so oblivious. You're far from stupid and I sure as hell don't think that of you. You're intelligent, beautiful, talented and social. Teacher's love you and I'm sure parents do too. You're the ideal golden child."
If only he knew how much I disappoint people. "Don't think so highly of me, I'll surely let you down."
Again he puts his head down and started to walk to his car.
"What are you doing!?" I called out to him, walking at him again. He turned to me and grabbed my shoulders.
"Why are you doing this to me?! I like you Delilah Blackbourne! Hearing you put yourself down hurts me and I'm not about to sit here and take it! If I can't show you how perfect you are, I'm sure that guy in there could." He let go and started to walk away.
I let out a soft snort. "Who? Bryan? I'm more of a little sister than a girl to him. I've known him since I was born. His mom was the eleventh person to hold me. His family knows the struggles that my family has because they have them too. And he and his brother are my brothers' best friends ."
Braydon came at me with a swiftness I rarely see from anyone he grabbed my waist and leaned in closely, stopping right before his lips touched mine. Braydon looked up and just then I realized that it was pouring and We were soaked. He let out a soft laugh and bent down, kissing me wildly.
"What are you guys doing? It's pouring! Get your asses in here before you get sick!" David yelled from the doorway.
We laughed as we ran inside. David got Brandon dry clothes, while I got changed into dry pjs. We went back down to the fort and I laid down next to Braydon who wrapped me in his arms spooning me. I fell asleep almost instantly in his arms.
