Chapter Forty Nine
Mark-Anthonys POV
I took a deep breath as I looked at my reflection. I was wearing a red flannel that exposed my white Ed Sheeran shirt. I also wore black pants that were torn around the knee and a pair of Chuck Taylors. This night had to be perfect. Ed Sheeran is Delilah's favorite singer and she knew every word to every one of his songs. She would cutely dance to them when they came over the radio.
I took another deep breath smelling something delicious. The smell of parmesan crusted chicken spread throughout the house. I ran downstairs and saw my sister cooking on the stove.
"It smells delicious Jade," I said. She turned to me with a smile.
"You look good!"
"Thanks," I said giving her frown.
"Whats up little brother?" She asked a bit teasingly but still showing her concern.
"I need to talk to you about Delilah. I really want you to keep an open view on this." She let out a chuckle.
"As long as she isn't an alien or something." She paused as she thought it over. "Actually it'd be super cool if you were dating an alien. She could be Supergirl or that chick from runways."
I looked at her with my jaw slightly dropped, stupefied. "Um no, she isn't an alien-"
"Dammit! That would have been so cool!" She interrupted me.
"Well it's more about her parents-" I thought out loud, Jade interrupted me again.
"Are her parent's aliens?"
"Well more her fathers-" I continued to think out loud ignoring her question that lacked basic knowledge of biology.
"Dude, so what if shes got two dads? Im a total les, why would I hate on a fellow fag?" My head shot up at what she said.
"I'm pretty sure you can't say that," I said astounded.
"No young padawan, you can't say it. I'm a homo so I'm allowed to call other homos that as long as I don't say it in a manner that would offend them. Its like black guys calling other black guys-"
"OK, THAT'S ENOUGH!" I interrupted. "Anyway, its nine dads and one mom. They have like ten kids running around this massive house." I tried my best to refrain from giving Jade the idea that it was an orgy or something.
Her mouth went wide before she smirked. "Oh god. That sounds like an -"
"NO! JESUS NO!" I yelled over her.
"It had to have been at some point." She murmured.
"Its a polygamous relationship Jade. Is that ok with you or are you going to make jokes all night?" She put her hands up in surrender.
The doorbell rang and I looked my older sister in the eye.
"If you ruin tonight, I wont come home," I said. Yes, that is my best threat.
"Ok dude, I get it! No orgy jokes. Now go get your girl." She rushed me out of the kitchen.
I went to the front door and opened it. In front of me stood a goddess with an indie punk look. At least that's the first way I'd think of describing her.
She wore a similar shirt with the same print as mine under a red flannel almost exactly like mine. She wore a black skirt that flowed down to her knees, showing off her ripped leggings and combat boots.
She took a step and leaned into me to kiss my cheek. Her hand landed on my shoulder so I put my hands on her hips.
"Can I meet your sister yet?" She whispered as she pulled away. She used her finger to push her lip into her teeth. It was something I had begun to notice.
"You sure you don't want to check out my room first?" I said jokingly.
"That's for later." She sent me a wink. I choked on air and walked behind her as she walked into the kitchen. She took a deep breath in. "Is that chicken? Yummy."
"You bet it is, sweetheart," Jade said. "Mark-Anthony, take over the chicken. Don't burn it."
I went over to the chicken and pulled out each strip when it was done. I heard Jade let out a laugh and one followed by Delilah, making me smile.
I brought the food out to the table where the women migrated. I plated the food for everyone and sat down next to Delilah. "Mark-Anthony, did you hear me?" Delilah asked looking slightly concerned. I gave her an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry, I -" Jade interrupted me. Again.
"Hold the phone! She just called you Mark-Anthony." She said astounded. Delilah gave me a worried look.
"Am I not supposed to call you that?" Delilah asked.
"Babe, I told you that you could didn't I?" I asked knowing the answer.
"Its just the last time someone other than me called you that, you-" I rolled my eyes at her before interrupting.
"Jade, I was fourteen." I defended. Jade dropped the conversation and we all went back to eating
"So, Delilah," Jade started. "I have a question."
My eyes went wide, not knowing what she was going to say.
"Are you an alien?" I dropped my head on the table. It was silent for at least thirty seconds until both girls started laughing.
"Give a man a heart attack why dont you."
