Its Christmas Eve and Sadie has been at my house for three days.
"So, what are you doing for Christmas?" I asked Sadie.
"I don't know, my parents have work. I guess just sit at home." She replied. I could see the sadness in her eyes.
"Why don't you stay over?" She raised her head to look me in the eyes.
"Would that be ok with everyone?" She asked with a bit of hope. I gave a small chuckle.
"Why wouldn't it? You're part of the family. Plus, we all bought or made you a gift." A smile came to her face.
I looked over at the clock on my bedside and was shocked at what time it was. I looked at Sadie and smiled.
"Guess we should get some sleep. The kids will in here early so they can open their gifts with us."
The Next Morning
Sadies POV
"WAKE UP, WAKE UP, WAKE UP!"
I was woken up by children screaming in the room. I slowly opened my eyes.
"I want to open my presents!" I looked over at Gale.
"Yeah! Me too!" Leo yelled
"Yeah, yeah. Go wake up David. Well, be down in a minute." Delilah spoke from beside me.
We walked into the family room where I just stood in awe. There were presents piled high around a brightly lit Christmas tree. I looked around to see every one of my soon to be parents smiling with pride.
"Yay! Santa!" Leo yelled as he ran by me.
This was going to be the best Christmas yet. Not because of the presents, but the people I'm now surrounded by. I looked around and knew this is it. This is where I belong.
I looked up at Sang who was smiling with a wrapped gift.
"Happy Birthday!"
