David and I were cuddled up in my hospital bed talking about our lives. Well his, since mine hasn't been very eventful.
"I asked Rachel to be exclusive with me. I hope you dont mind."
"Why would I?"
"I don't know. I just feel like that relationship is falling apart."
"I think we all knew it wouldn't work," I confess. "I mean I feel the same way for the boys as I do for you, strictly platonic. I love them as my brothers and I confused it for something more."
"Yeah, I think it worked with our families because they weren't sharing brothers and sisters. Sure Luke and North are brothers but if they threw in Marie, it would've fallen apart." I chuckled at this. "Speaking of falling apart, I heard Blair is coming home for Christmas."
"Really? I haven't seen him since he left Kayli to live with his father."
I started to remember the older boy. He was an unplanned child that the boys of the Toma team were scared of. They were sure it would break the relationship they worked so hard for. Even though they tried to make him as happy as he could be, Blair never fit in and on his 16th birthday, he asked to go live with his father. Kayli and Blake were bound to end. It had intense heat that flared out quick.
Blake was always accusing the toma team of something, tearing Kayli apart. All she wanted was her boys together and happy, but Blake didn't want to share.
********
(spoiler alert for scarab beetle)
There was one night where Blake and Kayli were stuck on a beach and then nine months later, Blair popped out. Blair was two when Kayli kicked Blake out.

"Too bad you won't see him then, huh." David teased me.
"Screw you I won't." I laugh. "Ive already talked to Doc."
David's eyes lit up and he got giddy like a child. "Youre coming home?!"
"Only for Christmas."
"Will they let you out for the winter formal?"
"I don't know. I might be able to persuade them if I had a date."
Davids' face went into a deep thought before it lit up. "Dont worry sis, I'll get you a date!"
