Chapter Twelve
Mark's pov
Tonight's homecoming and I still don't have a date. I haven't heard Delilah say anything about dates, so I could only hope. I tried to avoid asking after she friend-zoned me, but she's my final turn.
As I walked into the lunch room, I saw the beauty sitting in her spot at the table. I walked up to her with a mask of confidence, I sat down and started a casual conversation with whoever was listening. After about five minutes of this, I turned to Delilah.
"Hey De, I was wondering if a beautiful lady such as yourself, would honor me by being my date to homecoming." As soon as I got it all out, her face visibly dropped.
"Um, I'm sorry Mark, but an old friend from my old school agreed to take me." she told me.
"Who?" David demanded.
"Tyler Winchester."
"Good, because I'm taking Rachel." They both chuckled a little before Delilah turned back to me.
"I have a friend who doesn't have a date yet, her name is Rosaly. She's a cheerleader like me." I knew who she was, so I just nodded my head. After school, I searched her out and asked her.
Delilah's POV
When I got home from school, Gabriel was already set up for David and me.
"I already told Marc and Corey what to do with Tyler, Rachel, and, Bryan," Gabe informed us. "So let's get our asses into sixth fucking gear. We've got a dance to get ready for."
I found out that the Toma team needed reassurance that everyone would be safe, Bryan, and my dads were happy with my that. The dress Gabe got me was a deep purple with purple lacing. It had no straps, I think that I might have muttered perfect because Gabe said he wasn't done yet. He pulled out black stilettos that had 6-inch heels on them.
"Do your makeup simple, somehow your brother takes longer to get ready than you."
I did smokey eyes and the rest natural. I put on my heels and get some practice runs doing some flats and makeup in a bag. With a knock on my door and a yell that it was open, mom walked in.
"Baby, you look perfect. Let me do your hair."
She plugged in my curling iron and left the room. Just as mom came in the iron signaled its readiness. Mom was holding a beautiful crystal hair brooch. After about an hour of sitting in the chair, mom announced that she was finished. And boy was it perfect. It was a messy bun with the curls spilling out and framing around my face. The broach was stuck in between my head and the hair tie keeping the up do up. I forgot to tell, but mom had another appointment. Sean didn't go in because if he saw the ultrasound he would be able to tell it was a girl. He likes surprises.
The doorbell rang and I made my way down the stairs gracefully only to be swept off my feet in a familiar hug. The smell of chocolate axe filled my nose, Bryan.
"I've missed you so much!" He exclaimed. He squeezed me with a grunt. He pulled away and looked at me with a grin expression. His blue eyes darkened. "What's wrong sweetcheeks? Why are crying?" I reached up to my face and sure enough, my fingertips were wet. "I've missed you too," was what I got out before I was pulled back into my dates arms. I may have let out a loud screech.
"Way to go Bryan. Her makeup is ruined and that just won't do. Must I get Gabe.?" I let out an exaggerated sigh and pointed to the bag I dropped.
"Gi'me"
Bryan dipped down to grab it as Tyler softly set me down. I put the inside camera on my phone on and made Tyler hold it a specific way so I could fix my makeup.
