Chapter Fourteen
David woke me but told me not to wake Braydon. We walked out into the family room where Victor was setting up a camera. Mother told us to get in the same pose Kayli had us in for the morning after photo. We all found it amusing that my mom would call it that.
After the photo was taken, I woke up Braydon and took a photo of just him and me so he wouldn't feel left out if he found out about the other photo. Braydon met my fathers the same way Mark did. He met my siblings by age and they didn't seem too fond of him. The baby girls didn't want to go near him at all. I felt really bad for him.
After breakfast, we decided to spend the day at the mall. North let us borrow his old jeep.
As soon as we walked through the revolving doors, Rachel and I went straight to Victoria Secrets and picked out underwear for Rachel who hasn't gone shopping for herself this season. She was re- fitted for bras and panties. We went to Zumiez and Zaynes. We got skater clothes and all six of us got long boards that had a personalized bottom. Mine was blue with my name written in Graffiti purple spray paint. All of the longboards were similar but were different colors. We put the bags from the stores into the back of the Jeep and locked it. We rode our long boards to the skate park just a few blocks away from the mall.
We spent about an hour at the skate park before Braydon's phone went off, his mom saying to come home. We got lunch at Arby's and went to his house. He gave me a quick kiss before going inside. We went out to my house to drop off the jeep and grabbing the long boards, dropping off the clothes. Out of all of us, David and Tyler seem to have the most troubles with the boards. We asked David if we would like a helmet and he stuck his tongue out at us. My phone went, it was dad.
Dad: What are you doing for dinner?
"Guys, what are we doing for dinner?" I asked the group.
"Wanna come over to our place?" Rachel asked
"Yeah, Mama Winchester is making alfredo," Bryan said.
"Sounds good!" David said.
Me: We're going to the Tomas for Alfredo.
Dad: Ok have fun. See you two later. I love you both.
We rode over to the Toma house where we saw bags of clothes and Rachel's bags by the door.
"Dad," I said out loud.
"Yeah," the four agreed.
I was turned and into the arms of none other than Brandon.
"It's been too long Blackbourne. It seems like an empty house without you guys. That says something too, we have enough kids as it is."
"We can never have too many children. Look at the Blackbourne team, they have nine kids and Sang still has two more men to gift." Kayli yelled from somewhere in the house. Brandon chuckled that vibrated his chest and through my bones. I was then passed to the strong lean arms of Brandon's brother and Tyler and Bryans father, Corey.
"You know when you guys were little, like five years old or so, all of us would fight over who had to stay up with you. We played anything that was fair and quick. That's why I barely ever had to watch you," he said sending me a wink. "But now that it's been weeks and you're just now spending the night, I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!" I started to laugh at his goofiness when I was passed to Axles bare chest.
After we were official members of the Academy members, Axle seemed to not care about his appearance around us. I've seen him half naked so many times that genuinely surprised when I see him fully clothed.
He let out a small grunt as he squeezed me and kissed my the top of my head, letting me go. All at once I was attacked by four children.
"Delilah!" They all seemed to scream in unison.
"Winchesters!" I screamed back. I gave them each individual hugs and sent them to David.
"David" They screamed in unison again.
David finished giving hugs and then the five of us all ran upstairs to our usual hideout. Only Kayli and Corey knew where it was.
We talked for hours about anything and everything until Kayli rang us for dinner. I always thought it was weird that Kayli and Mother are best friends because they are almost the polar opposites. Mother will always make everything from scratch where Kayli normally makes everything from a bag or box. their looks are completely different. Kayli was tall with dark hair dark green eyes and tan skin whereas Mother was short with blond hair and green eyes with pale skin. Mother is people-pleaser and Kayli doesn't give two cents about what people thought about her. Mother was scared of the monster she called mom and what she would say when she found out about her new friends and she cared almost too much for the well being of her new friends that soon became my dads. Kayli ran from her boys but still fell for them. For both teams this was a problem, each had fallen in love but jealousy was a big issue. Being around boys all the time I guess the two teenagers at the time needed someone to vent to who understood.
Thanks to their friendship none of us had to look far to find our own. The pictures of us when we were young show how long we've been friends and I'm grateful that I could hold that connection so long with people as amazing as the 'triplets'. Being only a year and three months younger than them we could vent about everything and they have that understanding because they've done it too.
As the family ate, we talked about everything we've missed in each other's lives. I told them that we found out that the baby is a girl and we were trying to figure out a name for her without giving out that she is, in fact, a she, to Sean, who wants the thrill of the surprise.
After that night, David and I went home with the emptiness of hearts hurting from where the Toma team fills.
