Chapter Thirty Four

3rd person POV

The group of eight were sat around the pool at the Blackbourne estate. The most of them were on their phones. This aggravated one person in particular.

"What are we even doing?" Delilah burst out suddenly. "Everyone is on their phones but we are all right here so who are you talking to?"

Mark-Anthony sat up the chair he and Delilah had been sharing. He was guilty of being on his phone so he sat it on the table and looked up at her.

"Well, darling, what do you want to do?"He asked her.

Rachel sat up from laying on David who was fast asleep. "It's the middle of winter. Everything is closed for the winter due to lack of tourist."

"We could go to Broadway on the Beach?" Mark-Anthony said thinking about all the food he could get.

"Eh, I don't really want to walk too much today. The girls want to go shopping tomorrow." Sadie said.

"How about the beach? We could pack a picnic?" Delilah suggested.

"Yeah, that way we can get out without walking too much." Rachel put in.

"Its also 67° out. Its pretty cold." Braydon said.

"Well we wont go in the water, I know thats practically suicide. That doesnt me we can bring a soccer ball or throw a frisbee." Delilah pitched.

"I'm game." Mark-Anthony finalized.

Tyler looked over his shoulder to Braydon. "I think it'll be fun."

Braydon looked into Tylers eyes and he couldnt say no, no matter how stupid they were about to be.

"Fine," Braydon said

Bryan knew it didnt matter now, he was going. He wanted to spend as much as this week with Sadie as he could. With their blossoming relationship, he wanted to be ready for all the rough patches that were sure to come with the pregnancy and the adoption.

"I'll help pack the dinners." Bryan offered.

Rachel elbowed her new official boyfriend in the ribs.

"Get up you bum, were going to the beach."

After the picnic was packed, they piled into respected cars. In Mark-Anthonys car was him, Delilah, Bryan, and Sadie. The rest were in Braydons car. They all headed off to Myrtle.

They did walk a bit due to the jellyfish which littered the beach that washed up during the storm. They set up in a section where it was clear.

The boys were throwing around a football. After a while, the guys got hot so they took off their shirts. The temptation got the best of Delilah. A few minutes after Mark-Anthony took off his shirt, Delilah threw it on. It was a long sleeve so she rolled the sleeves until above her wrist, but she couldnt do anything about the fact that it covered her shorts.

Mark-Anthony was easily distracted by the sight of Delilah in his shirt. It wasnt just any shirt though, it was the red one he had gotten from soccer that had his name on the back. The red had him so distracted that he didnt notice the ball that was thrown his way.

The end of the football hit him on the side of the face. The surprising impact brought him to the ground. Delilah ran to check on him but he insisted he was fine.

"How about you just come lay down on my lap before we eat?" Delilah proposed.

He nodded and walked back to the blanket they had set up.

"Hey, Rachel?" He got Rachels attention.

"Yeah?"

"Can you run to my car and grab the hoodie in the trunk?"

"Sure sweetcheeks." Rachel stood and went to the parking lot.

"I could give you back your shirt." Delilah felt bad that he was cold while she wore his shirt.

"No!" He exclaimed quickly. "I want you to keep it. You look way better in it than I do."

Rachel came back with a hoodie and another blanket. He threw on the hoodie and spread the blanket over him and Delilah. Delilah played with his hair and soon he was out cold.

Rachel was happy that her best friend finally found the one for her. It was obvious the two would last. Rachel saw the same look in Marks eyes when he looked at Delilah as when she caught one of her fathers looking at her mother.

Rachel found herself looking over at David. She was in love with him, there was no doubt in her mind. The younger boy knew everything about her and she knew everything about the younger boy, but they still continued to find new things to surprise each other and make the other laugh.

Davids main fear was how young he was. He was fifteen, and even though he knew he was in love, would she love him forever? When he looked over at his sister's best friend, he knew his fears were silly. It didnt matter how young he was. He fell all over again every day and if he could show it to her, Rachel would never leave him.

When Rachel called the boys over for dinner, David ran right up to her swept her up into a tight hug before peppering her with kisses.

Tyler smiled at his best friend and sister. In all the books and movies, its a big no to date your best friends sister, but Tyler was glad they were together. Tyler was pulling a big no himself. He was dating an ex of his friend.

When he looked over to Braydon, he was happy he was pulling a big no. Braydon had unwrapped his egg salad sandwich and had half of it on his face. Tyler chuckled and cleaned up his boys face.

Braydon was glad he realized he wanted to be with Tyler when he did. He didnt care what the guys would call him when they all found out. He really felt something when he was with Tyler and he didnt want to lose it.

After the picnic, Bryan grabbed Sadie into a hug as the sun went down. She soon fell asleep in his arms, he had never felt more complete. He was glad she was getting the family and attention she so longed for.

He looked over at his family. Mark was cuddling with Delilah's legs while she was asleep on Rachels shoulder. Rachel had her head on top of Delilahs and David was fast asleep on her waist. Tyler has fallen asleep on Braydon who was fast asleep under Tyler.

Bryan woke up Braydon, David, and Mark so they could carry the girl and Tyler out to the cars without having to wake them. (Bryan knew how hard it was to wake Tyler.) He texted Owen and Sean that everyone was on their way back before he carefully picked up Sadie and put her in Marks car.
