I stayed in my new mother's arms for a few minutes before looking at my new family. I was assaulted by hugs and kisses. I let out a chuckle.
This is where I belong.
We decided that I would go home with Bryan. I got into his car and he gave me a kiss on the cheek before starting the car.
"Mom called you her nephew. Im not going to lie, I almost cringed." I said. Bryan let out a laugh.
"Well, its a good thing Im not really her nephew. That would make us and my past so very messed up." I wasnt sure what he meant but I smiled at him laughing.
Bryan mustve taken a longer route home. Only he could make a 15-minute ride into a 30-minute ride.
I went to open the door but Bryan locked the door before I could. I turned and looked at him, waiting for him to explain. He kept looking straight so I tried for the handle again. Again he locked the doors before I could open mine.
"Bryan, what are you doing?" I had a smile on my face. I was enjoying his childish games.
He sent me a smile. He turned back to looking out the front windshield. I manually unlocked the handle but Bryan somehow was still able to lock the door.
"Bryan!" I laughed out.
He let out a laugh.
"I'm sorry love. I havent been cleared to let you out yet." He said, trying to give me a straight face.
"Cleared?" I asked. Is there something they need to hide from me?
Bryans phone pinged and he took a second to look at it before getting out of the car and unlocking the doors. He ran to my door and opened it for me.
We walked up to the front door. I went to reach for the handle but it swung open before I could grab it.
Whats up with me and doors.
Delilah grabbed me by the arm and dragged me to her bedroom door. She pushed open the door to reveal, a different room?
A massive room that was once purple and young, was now white and vintage. The once white carpet was now a dark wood floor.
"I hope you like it, Delilah said with a smile. I had to get rid of my queen for you," she teased.
She gave me a hug. When she pulled away, she grabbed my hand and brought me into the room.
Straight ahead there was a vanity that had a vintage look to it. On both sides of the grey top of the vanity, there were two wooden lamps with pale pink lamp shades.
The two beds were exactly the same. The beddings were white with one large pink pillow and one small grey pillow on each bed. Above each headboard were two black and white drawings in grey frames.
Delilah sat on one bed and pointed to the other. "Thats your bed," She pointed to the bottom draw in the vanity. "You get the bottom and I cleaned out a half of my closet for the large shopping spree."
"Shopping spree?" I asked. "Why do we need a shopping spree? I have all the clothes I need."
"Gabe will want to take you out shopping. Its kind of his thing. Plus he did all of this so think of it as a way to say thank you." I walked into the closet.
"Is that where you get your weird need to shop?" I mumbled. I came back out of the closet and looked to where she was pointing this time, but it was an empty corner.
"A pack and play that doubles as an infant crib is on its way. She can sleep in here until she's ready for her crib."
I went up and grabbed her into a hug as a tear went down my cheek. This right here, was why I wanted to be adopted by this amazing family. They kept you in mind as they checked off your boxes.
"Don't cry now! We still have one more surprise!" At that moment, Victoria and Nataly grabbed my hands and dragged me out of my new room and brought me to a new one.
This room had the same vintage feel as mine. I looked around the room and noticed two cribs. It was a nursery. On crib had Selah in it fast asleep, but the other was empty.
"That one is for your little girl." I whipped around to see Sean sitting a pink armchair. He stood up and grabbed a stuffed elephant off of the shelf on the wall, and handed it to me.
Tears were now streaming down my face. "Y-you guys h-have done so m-much for m-me. T-thank you." I choked out. Sean grabbed me in a hug and let me cry out my happiness into his now tear stained shirt.
After I calmed down, without waking up Selah thank god, Sean took me to the family room. When I walked in, I saw almost all of my new siblings (all the ones older than two). I looked over at David and Delilah and saw our whole group.I walked to them and sat in the spot they had left for me.
I looked around at my siblings that were watching The Lion King.
This is where I belonged.
