I was at the meadow again. Next to the River of the Lost. A place that kept me sane, at peace with everything going on in the world. It helped me gain clearity. In a way, this was where I lost my confusion about anything. This was my safe haven. This was mine and Phoenix's spot.
"Vanish, you know you need to wake up." A sweet, husky voice said from next to me. I looked over and saw Phoenix there. His golden brown skin was glowing in the sun light. He was smiling with his face towards the sun, eyes closed. He did always love the heat. Maybe it was a bird thing. "It's not a bird thing."
"What?"
"You do realize you can't think to yourself here, it's all outloud." He smiled at me. Not the cocky, I know I look good smile. It was a true genuine smile. "I am attracted to warm things." Phoenixs arm snaked around my waist and pulled me to his chest.
"I miss this." I whispered. "I miss you."
His head rested my shoulder, he answered back "then hurry up and find us."
"I am trying," I answered, trying to keep the tears gathering in my eyes at bay.
"No, you aren't. You are in the human realm, sweetheart. You are distracted. That human is not going to be able to help you. You know that deep down, you have feelings for him and you are letting it blind you." He whispered. "Come back, my Hjerte. My Vakkar Soldat."
I never realized how much I missed him calling me that: my heart, my beautiful soldier.
"If by feelings, you mean he annoys me with his stupidity, then sure. I have feelings for him." I shrugged, "but I think I know what type of feelings you are talking about. And the only feelings I feel like that towards anyone, is for you and you only."
"Vanish, lying to yourself is one thing, but lying to me is another. You know I can see straight through you." He said.
"I always lie to you." I sat up, out of his arms.
"And like I said," he grabbed me again, "I can see right through you."
"No you don't. Not with what I have been lying about." I shook my head.
"And what lie are you talking about? The one with you not loving me? The one with Misty and I not hurting you, that you claim to not care? Or that you don't love Drake as much as you love me..." He let me go.
"I could never love Drake as much as I love you." I spun around. "How do you know all those things?" I asked.
"Because Vanish, I am just a dream." He smiled, grabbing my hand and placing light kisses along my arm, starting at my knuckles and ending at the base of my collarbone. Something he always did before we left, telling me to comeback tomorrow.
I tried to pull away but he grasped my wrist. "So, you aren't truely here. You really aren't with me." I looked at him in his eyes. The edges of him started to disappear, like a breeze was going through and taking him little by little; He was turning into smoke., blowing away.
"I will always be with you." His hand that was clasped around my wrist, let go. I looked down to the bracelet he gave me before the night of the kidnapping. It still had a handcarved wooden bird on it.
"I will get you back. I swear." I looked back up.
He smiled, it reaching to his eyes. "If anyone can do it, it is you." He said. His eyes were the last to disappear.

"Vanish. you need to wake up." I felt someone touch my cheek. My eyes flashed open and my fist flew forward, connecting with someones jaw. "Son of a bitch!"
