Elves Surrender: Kiss of Devour

Invisible Shield Testing.

He looked at me as if I was a creature from a different planet. Which, I technically was. "Drake, why are you staring at me like that?"

"What did you say?"

"We can't save them!" I shouted.

"Vanish, we might not be able to, but you are! You are a great fighter, just go with the flow." He shouted back.

"Go with the flow? I don't know what that means but I am not flowing anywhere! I can't do this alone! I can't save my whole village by myself. I can't sneak them out while fighting the army that will be coming after me!"

"Yes, Vanish, you can!" Drake yelled back, "you are the most talented...thing, I have ever seen with weapons. I have seen movies, kick ass fighting movies, and they don't equal to yours. You can take on the whole army; you can take on the whole tree thing Fenrir was talking about! You can do it! I believe in you and I know you believe in yourself too."

I shook my head, "you don't understand, Drake. These Elves are different. I failed the first time and that was with people. There is no way I can do it alone!"

"What makes you think that? Because you got knocked unconscious? Learn from your mistakes!" He outstretched his arm and pointed behind me. "Get your cute little ass in that kingdom and Fight for your Village! Fight for those who can't. Fight for yourself." His voice died in a whisper, "and then come back to us with your people."

"I. Can't." I said through greeted teeth. I wiped at the tears down my cheek angrily.

"God damn it Vanish!" Drake punched the tree and then grunted while holding his hand.

Sighing, I stepped through the shield and reached for his hand. He turned away from my touch. "Let me see it." I grabbed his arm. With a sigh, he turned around and handed me his hand.

I felt along each finger and down the back. Nothing was broken, we was just an Idiot. I massaged his hand softly while humming a tune my Pappy taught me. "How's that?" I looked into his golden orbs. He didn't say anything, just stared at me.

"Maybe there is a loop hole to get in." He said after clearing his throat and looking away.

"No, that isn't how magick is here."

"There has to be an opening somewhere. Maybe we can climb the wall." Drake looked up the trees.

I shook my head again. "It's like a huge dome over the Earth."

"I have an idea. I was waiting for you guys to stop, but it didn't seem like it was going to help any." Fenrir grunted as he laid down.

"What is it?"

"The portals." He began licking his paw.

"The portals won't work." I told him.

"The Dark magick has different restrictions. The portals aren't affected by their magick like  the lights." Fenrir corrected.

"That doesn't make sense. Our's is natural, theirs isn't. How can that be comparable?" I asked. This wasn't making any sense to me.

"Because, dear, the portals are made of natural magick. That is why we can change it and the Darks can't." Fenrir's nostrils flared when he said dear.

"Okay, so if that is natural, how can we get in? It seems they blocked the Lights out." I said eyeing the four legged creature running into our forest from the dark side.

"If that was true, how can you get in?" Fenrir asked.

"My gift, being able to vanish anywhere." I shrugged. Drakes theory seemed to be the most accurate of all the ones I have come up with. I don't know what species I am other then Liosalfar, but I highly doubt I am part Svartalfer. I could just be the exception because of my gift, or maybe the King made a loop hole for me, knowing I might come. But they all seemed far fetched and my gift might be the reason for me being able to cross over.
