Simon

We keep riding for a while and then Sophia stops in the middle of a plain, by a willow tree.

"Where are we?" I ask, looking around. It's beautiful but not as beautiful as Soph.

"At a place that only you and I know about. My favorite place. The creek." My heart flutters when she says that only we know about it. It's an odd feeling. It makes me feel special to her. A smile makes its way to my face. "Cmon, I'm going to show you my favorite spot to sit." She says, getting off of her horse and tying it up. I follow suit and pat Devils Spawn on the nose before following Sophia. She walks through the willow tree and when we come to the other side the land dips down into a creek bed. Sophia walks down onto a little Peninsula in and sits on the beach.

"It's so peaceful here. I come here just to think. And swim." She says, grinning at me. We sit in silence, her looking at the water and me looking at her, a small smile on my face. "Thank you, for everything. You make my day brighter just by smiling, so never stop. You can make me laugh even when I'm sad, and you try to always keep me happy. So thank you," She says, looking over at me. My heart warms and my smile grows even bigger.

"Thank you too. You make my day, just by being you. You don't pretend to be someone your not. You don't act like I'm a king, and even though you can't golf for the life of you," I pause when she laughs, "you still try your best at everything you do." She let's her eyes slip down to my lips and I start to lean in. When we are about an inch apart she closes her eyes just as my phone starts to ring. I growl, picking it up.

"What on earth could you possibly want?" I ask Dan irritably.

"I was wondering if you were home, but now I'm wondering what crawled up your butt," he says.

"No, I'm not home. I'll call you later." I end the call and turn off my phone. I look over at Soph and she blushes. "So, are we still going to the beach? I have somewhere I want to show you." She smiles and nods.

"Sounds good." She says getting up and dusting her pants off. We walk back over to the horses and ride back in silence.

"Thanks for showing me that Soph," I say, she smiles at me and nods.

"I'm glad I finally found someone worth sharing it with," she says, a huge grin comes to my face and she blushes.

"I'm glad that someone was me." Her head snaps up and her gaze meets mine. I want nothing more than to reach out and pull her into my arms. But I don't. "Now, how about that beach?" I ask the mood lightening.

"Hmm, as long as you promise not to throw me in." She says grinning.

"We'll see." We hop into my car and she turns on the radio.

Your better than the best
I'm lucky just to linger in your light
Cooler than the flips idea of my pillow, that's right
Completely unaware
Nothing can compare to where you send me,
Let's me know that it's OK, yeah it's OK
And the moments when my good times start to fade

"You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record crazy on a Sunday night." I sing, looking at Sophia. She looks at me and then she starts to sing where I left off.

"You make me dance like a fool, forget how to breathe, shine like gold, buzz like a bee, just the thought of you can drive me wild," she sings, her voice is beautiful.

"Oh, you make me smile." We sing in unison. I never sing around other people. I used to sing really well. Then things happened and I quit.

"Simon, your singing is...wow." She says, looking at me with awe.

I let out a chuckle and turn my attention back to the road. "Thanks, looks like all the singing in the shower has paid off."

"Seriously, your voice is amazing," She says, still staring at me.

"Thanks, you're not to bad yourself." I tell her. She blushes.

"I grew up singing, with Janet. She had the most beautiful voice." I look over at her as she smiles, reminiscing about her sister. This is really the first time she's ever told me anything about her so I keep quiet, not wanting her to put her walls up. "She always used to sing 'Humble and Kind', it's my favorite song. She used to sing it to me every night." She swallows hard as her voice breaks at the end.

"It's okay Soph, deep breaths." I link our hands together, a tingling feeling comes to my hand. One I've never felt before. It's like my hand and all my senses are on fire. Just one touch and this girl has me wrapped around her finger.

She looks down at our hands but doesn't pull away. I'm smiling. Again. Man, this girl really does make me smile.

I put my attention back on the road but keep her hand firmly in mine.

I'm taking her to the place my dad used to bring me to. Before he was drunk. We used to fish and swim there all the time.

I look over at Sophia when we get there and see that she fell asleep. Smiling I take time to look at every feature on her face.

After a while, I decide I better wake her up. "Soph, Cmon we are here," I say, unclasping our hands and shaking her gently.

"I'm up I'm up," She mumbles. Chuckling I keep shaking her.

"Cmon or we are gonna miss it." She finally opens an eye and when she sees me she bolts up.

"I guess I fell asleep," She says.

Chuckling I step out of the car and go to the back to grab a blanket.

"Ever seen the sunset from a cliff?"
