Lin's POV:
Groaning I eventually fell asleep in the double bed and was shortly awoken to the bed dipping while Stacy got in. I sneakily peeked through an eye to see the time when I saw 2:08am. Man she was up late, I decided to question her about it tomorrow but I had a surprise for her and didn't want to ruin it. After setting an alarm for 5:30am I fell back to sleep next to the love of my life.
The alarm blared beside me as I frantically turned the volume down for the sake of Stacy's sleep schedule. I tip-toed downstairs into my study too see I am not the only writer in the household as Stacy's paperwork was everywhere, panicking I was relieved to see my poem exactly where I left it. I picked it up protectively and called up the director of Fun Home.
"Linny boy! Heard you're seeing the show tonight!"
"Looking forward to it Sam! I actually have a favour to ask you..."
"Can't say no to this!" I groaned as he laughed.
"Listen." I whispered my plan into the phone so only me and him could hear.
"GOTCHA! Good luck Linny boy!"
"See ya tonight!"
I ended the call. That man was so energetic. I then prepared my things into a satchel just like Hamilton and placed it by the door, grabbing the two front row tickets to Fun Home I placed them lightly in Stacy's hand so she wouldn't wake. She looked adorable when she was asleep, I gazed at her for three minutes till I blinked out of it and made breakfast. I felt incredibly ambitious today so I decided to cook a full English breakfast, besides today is an important day for all. Mainly me and Stacy though. After close inspection of the instructions and exact timing, I cooked the perfect English breakfast and laid it on the table, since in our mini family, presentation is ideal for those who want extra brownie points.
"LIFE CAN BE BEAUTIFFFFFUUUUUUUULLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!" I yelled opening the curtains grinning since once again the morning voice caught Stacy mid-sentence.
"No-ot today." She gasped feeling the tickets in her hand.
I laughed and picked her up out of bed, twirled her around in a circle then ran downstairs with her in my arms. She was practically buzzing with energy till she saw what was for breakfast.
"Lin, y-you did it." She said, shocked
"Yup!" I replied smugly.
"W-wow..."
I grinned and pulled back a chair for her to sit on followed by lightly pushing her in. I then went and sat myself down to propose a toast:
"To us."
"Raise a glass to freedom."
"You ALWAYS have to ruin it don't you." She laughed as we clinked glasses.
"Plan for today then?" She asked mid-way through her meal,
"Watching an amazing musical," she screeched in excitement as I gave her look asking if I could continue and she nodded.
"Going out for dinner and coming back here to enjoy the night, besides I'm all caught up with sleep thanks to SOMEONE last night." She giggled, practically bouncing in her chair.
"I take it you're excited for today?" She nodded vigorously as I laughed and cleaned up the plates so she could get changed. Thanks to waking up at 5:30am, I was already changed and showered with packed bags and god I was so nervous.
"Readdddyyyyyy!" She sang the note as I looked up the stairs and my jaw dropped.
"Noooooooo..." It was the exact green dress from tick tick boom, literally everything was identical. She laughed and strutted down the stairs as if it were a catwalk.
"How did you -"
"Shhhhh... Girls have their contacts."
We left for fun home and caught a taxi. I asked for the driver to play 'Green dress' and smiled when he obliged.
"Green green dress,
20 buttons and a strap,
Green green dress,
What a pleasure to unwrap,
Green dress oh what it can do,
What the green green dress does to me on you..."
At the end of the song we were exhausted from singing along as the driver politely returned the disc and I handed over the money. I led her into the theatre as Sam approached us both.
"LINNY BOY! And Mrs!" He kissed her hand while eyeing me to make me jealous.
"Why hello Sam. Could you show MY girlfriend inside please?"
"Uh... Sure. This way madam."
We got into our seats as Stacy gasped.
"LIN WE'RE AT THE FRONT IN THE MIDDLE! OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!"
"Hun, I know, I got the tickets."
"OH MY GOD IT'S STARTING! SHHHH! OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!"
I quietly chuckled and let her watch the musical in peace. It came to the final bow and then came the moment I had been dreading.
"We have all acted to our full potential but it cannot match to the man about to join us on stage. Bring your hands together for LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA!" Everyone cheered as I felt cameras flash while I climbed the steps to go on stage. The last thing I saw before the lights hit was Stacy's confused look. I was so worried.
"Hi guys, tonight is an important night. Not just for me but for everyone here. As some may know I have split up with Vanessa and am in a new relationship with the love of my life Stacy." She blushed while everyone awed. "She is my inspiration when I run out of my ideas and consumes my thoughts throughout the day, without you I am nothing Hun. Sam brought her up to the stage and with that I began my sonnet:
"A gift to your love is a powerful thing, The smallest greeting to a Valentines date, Sent from the heart - delivered by angels wings, And made by delicate hands of which create. I give you my love, my loyalty and joy, In hope you will take care and smile everyday, This love I give to you cannot be destroyed, As our bond to each other will never fray. I wish to help you achieve your highest dreams, And help you fight your most unbearable fears, And as our relationship grows it will seem As if our love has lasted for endless years. My wish for you is to stand right by your side, My girl, my love, my life will you be my bride?" I looked up to see her tear stained face as I realised tears ran down mine too. Everyone cheered as I fell to one knee and got out the ring and a mic was brought to her:
"YES!" I smiled, the love of my life is mine.
