"Hello, is this Andrew Rannells?"
I sounded like a business man, he'll just end the call.
"Depends, is this the ravishing man I came across today with two stunning children?"
How could he make me blush when he wasn't even there?
"Y-Yeah I guess."
"Glad to hear it. Did you really miss me that much?"
"Now that is definitely an ego boost! I just needed someone to talk to."
"Sure. What's up handsome?"
"S-Stop calling me stuff like that."
"Aw. Is little hot stuff getting embarrassed?"
"S-Stop!"
My face resembled a tomato as my breathing quickened.
"Who knew you'd be so partial to pet names? I'll remember this."
"Can I talk now?"
"Sure pretty boy."
"It's my friend. He's the father of the kids. He's struggling with a personal problem and I left him for a bit alone and he ended up in hospital."
"Yikes. Need me to come over?"
"You're still a stranger mate."
"You know my name."
"What's your favourite colour?"
"Red."
"Of course."
For a few seconds I was blessed with the cutest laugh ever through the phone.
"And yours?"
"Pale blue."
"No longer strangers. Want me to come over?"
"Fine."
I told him the address.
"5 minutes."
He ended the call there and then. And, as promised, he was over in exactly 5 minutes.
"Uh hi."
He chuckled warmly as I welcomed him in.
"I'll make a bet with you Groff."
"Uh yeah?"
"Next time I turn up at your door it'll be our first date."
I gasped, then, realising how loud that was, blushed heavily.
"Wow, were your cheeks this red when we were on the phone?"
He laughed as I blushed heavier proving he was right.
"Man, you are a sensitive one aren't you? It suits you. I doubt anyone else has made you blush this hard."
I shook my head.
"Good. Anyway, are the kids here?"
"And the dog."
"YOU HAVE A DOG?!"
"Yeah..?"
"OH MY GOD CAN I SEE IT?"
"Her. Tobillo. I mean, that's the name. Of the dog, not me. It's not like I changed my name or anything."
I nervously laughed as he smiled.
"You are really nervous around me aren't you?"
Well when you're next to the fittest, cutest, handsomest, hottest guy. Yeah it's hard. Wait what? I shook my head and left to get Tobillo and bring her in.
"Oh my gosh she's adorable!"
He rushed to pet her as I scratched the back of my head anxiously not knowing what to do. The phone then rang as I rushed to it avoiding Andy's eyes following me.
"Hello?"
"Jonathan?"
"Yeah?"
"Lin's gonna be okay. He'll have to stay in hospital for a while but he's fine."
"Thank god!"
"Do you want to visit him now?"
I gulped looking at him.
"Um I'm at my mom's house. Checking up on her you know?"
"Oh okay. Call me if you're coming."
She ended the call and at once I felt guilty. I let Lin go into the hospital because I was with a guy. Now I won't visit him because of the same guy. Why can't he get out of my head?
"Who was on the phone?"
I jumped letting out a small yelp as I turned to see him leaning casually against the door frame. Wow.
"U-Umm they said he's gonna be okay."
"Good stuff. Want me to stay?"
I didn't want to sound clingy but I really just wanted to cuddle up to him for the rest of the day. What was wrong with me?
"Please."
He scoffed opening his arms as I ran in to hug him. I felt complete.
"Come on now. Let's sit down."
He led me to the sofa in the kids room as they looked up curiously.
"Uh, Ariella, Isaac, this is Andrew. Andrew Rannells I mean. You didn't need to know his full name. You can't even talk. Why am I saying this?"
I blushed curling into Andy as he laughed, loudly, raucous laughter. It was embarrassing for me. Why couldn't I keep my cool around him? Was it so hard? As I looked up to see his sleek jawline. I knew it'd be hard.
"I'd rather be sailing, yes, I would
On an open sea"
I blushed hearing my favourite childhood song.
"I'd stand at the railing if I could
Feeling wild and free"
He looked down at me with nothing but warmth in his eyes.
"The sun is on my neck, the wind is in my face
The water's incredibly blue"
I cuddled closer to him.
"And I'd rather be sailing
Yes, I'd wanna go sail
And then come home to you"
He lifted my chin up kissing me on the lips. I melted into the kiss as he smiled against my lips. He is a really good kisser! I closed my eyes letting my focus fully stay on this moment. I didn't want to think about anything else. His hand ran through my hair as I accidentally let out a soft groan. Oh god. My cheeks flushed as I broke the kiss.
"Something wrong pretty boy?"
"I - I don't know."
He smiled sympathetically pulling me back into the hug.
"We'll start off slow. Don't worry it'll be fine."
He lightly squeezed me reassuringly as I nodded to myself. It'll all be okay soon. I hope. Andy sensed my sudden tenseness and began to sing the song again to loosen me up.
"I'd rather be sailing, yes, I would
On an open sea
I'd stand at the railing if I could
Feeling wild and free
The sun is on my neck, the wind is in my face
The water's incredibly blue
And I'd rather be sailing
Yes, I'd wanna go sail
And then come home to you"
His voice lulled me to sleep as I began to snooze in his arms. I felt his head lean on mine when he sang the last line of the song then he sighed afterwards. And four words, barely audible, hung in the air.
"I love you Jon."

AN: CUTE! I swear this is the most adorable chapter of the book. See ya in the next chapter!
