Lin's POV:
"He... HE WHAT?!"
Jon rushed up to me as I hugged him. He was crying onto my shoulder but it didn't matter anymore.
"It's... it'll be okay Jon. You've got me. I won't hurt you. It'll all be just fine."
He looked up at me and I sighed, it didn't seem right to see Jon like this. It just didn't fit his usual personality. I've known him for years and I've never seen him like this.
"Do-Do you want to tell someone? Professional I mean."
"N-Not yet."
I silently nodded hearing his muffled cries.
"Let's get you some tea and we can talk. Okay?"
He nodded as he lifted his head from my shoulder. I couldn't look at him - not because of what happened - but because of the way he looked. He didn't look like Jon.
"Alright then. Milk?"
He nodded and I returned with two cups.
"You don't have to tell me everything, just what you want to say."
"He-He said it'll be fine. Just like the last time. I told him I didn't - didn't want to but he didn't listen. And-And"
He sat there head in his hands shaking with sobs, I put a hand on his shoulder and nodded silently.
"I've got some spare pyjamas. Let's get you ready for bed okay?"
He followed me upstairs and I gave him what I thought would be his size before giving him privacy to get changed. He shortly returned in them and it was a perfect fit.
"Right. Bed now. I'll sleep on the couch."
"Stay."
It was barely a whisper through his cracked voice but I still heard it.
"Jon..."
"I just need someone. Th-That I trust."
I obliged getting into the double bed with him.
"Lights out."
I waited roughly an hour until I was sure that he was asleep before creeping to my office and picking up the phone.
"Hello?"
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
"Ah! Lin! What a surprise!"
"I'll show you a surprise. Why the fuck would you do that?"
"Your little friend, Jon. Right?"
"You forgot his name?"
"I covered that with pet names most of the time but yes I did."
"You are fucking dead..."
"Carrying on, Jon is weak. He trusted me too much and he was too perfect. I had to break it."
"Like that? There are many ways I will break you and none of them will be as bad as that!"
"I'm glad. It was hard to do that to him you know, crying, screaming, I'm surprised the neighbours didn't hear. Oh wait, I don't have any."
"The more I talk to you the more corrupted I am with your stupid fucked up words you think you can say. I could ruin you."
"And I could ruin you."
"How?"
"Well do you really think Stacy drove herself off into that river?"
"Wait... No..."
"She was really close, poor darling, but then she remembered you it seemed, and she stopped the car just before it fell. She just needed a little push that's all. And, with no back cameras she could only assume it was herself."
"YOU FUCKING MURDERED HER!"
"Did I? I never thought of it like that."
"How else could you think of it?"
"Well, suicide right? If I told the cops you pushed the car you would be the number one suspect anyway. You were closest to her. I didn't have a thing to do with her."
"So-So why kill her?"
"Are you getting choked up too? You and Jon have a lot in common. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. And I owed her uncle a favour."
"A whole effing parade labelled as a suicide..."
"Pretty smart huh?"
"Shut the fuck up."
"If you want to hear the rest of the story..."
"Fine. Go on."
"Her uncle got me a job in the acting zone. I owed him a favour. He hated his niece. Debt paid."
"I hate you."
"Awww hate you too."
"The cops are gonna kill you."
"Unless you're arrested for killing your 'Hun' first."
I ended the call shaking with anger. There was no output. I was stuck. I either go to jail or he does. Or he still haunts he streets. I'm risking my career for safety. And, at 50%, the odds aren't in my favour.

"Morning Jon."
He nodded slowly in response as I made him his breakfast. Honey nut cheerios, his favourite. He took one look at the bowl and broke down. Of course Andrew knew about that. I sighed and took the bowl back making toast for both of us which Jon ate.
"What do you want to get up to today?"
"I heard you on the phone."
"W-What?"
"Don't do it Lin. I don't want you to go to Jail."
"It's a fifty percent chance."
"Exactly."
"It's either that or he is still here."
There was silence from Jon.
"I have to do it. It's what is right."
A tear slipped from Jon's eye as I wiped it away.
"I don't want to lose you as well Lin."
"Oh... Jon..."
I hugged him as he hugged me back tightly. If I do it it'll break everyone - if I don't do it it'll break me. And possibly future victims for all I know. Why couldn't I of just been able to call the cops with no threats hanging over me? I gotta admit the guy is smart to think it all out.
"Let's go for a walk, okay?"
He got up and walked to the bathroom to try and make himself look better and more 'normal Jon'. It wasn't the type of thing the Press needed to know until a couple years have passed. Then he can't be targeted as much.
"Ready?"
I stumbled over locking the door and laughed to myself as the lock finally clicked.
"Let's go."
We were walking down a valley on the way to a picnic field as, walking the other way was someone I didn't want to ever see again. Jon looked back at me as I simply froze staring daggers at the person.
"I know, I made a mistake, you have every reason to hate me. But don't you think you need a lawyer on your side right now? A good one too."
