Jon's POV:
I awoke in Andy's arms and I couldn't get those words out of my head. Did he actually say them? Did I imagine it all? I freed myself of his embrace and left to make breakfast. Yet to realise I can't really cook much. Instead I made two bowls of cereal and lightly shook him awake.
"Early bird huh?"
"Well, if it gets the worm."
He chuckled a deep throaty laugh. Man his morning voice is to die for. Mine sounds the same but his, that huskiness is just too distracting.
"Breakfast?"
I nodded showing him to the table.
"I am so glad to know I am in the presence of a chef."
I rolled my eyes as he pulled a chair out for me to sit on, tucking me in afterwards.
"It's not a date."
"Yet."
I almost choked on the cereal.
"When we go on a date it will be a lot more formal than this I promise you."
"When?"
"When."
"You are a smug one aren't you?"
"And you are a shy one, unless that is just around me? And you're blushing again. Seems I have a rather large effect on you Jon. We only just met. I could be a criminal for all you know."
"Who cuddles and kisses his victims?"
"Kinky criminal for sure."
Okay RIP cereal. No point trying anymore. Why bother?
"Well maybe I have a thing for criminals then, so what?"
"Bad boy huh?"
"I -"
"Big ol'rebel of the sort."
"Well -"
"Bet the girls went crazy for you back in high school. Guy in the leather jacket."
"Okay now we're overreacting."
"Really?"
"What with my dorky glasses and stutter? Sure. Girls loved me."
"Guys?"
"What do you think?"
"I wouldn't ask that question with my dirty mind."
"I mean about guys digging me at high school."
"Well you stood out a mile from everyone else at the store but kids don't realise stuff like that till after graduation these days."
"So?"
"I'm guessing a no?"
"Correct."
"So now, you're not used to pet names and compliments so that's why you get so embarrassed about it?"
I blushed as he smirked to himself.
"My, My, My. Rannells you are a little Sherlock Holmes."
I collected the dishes and cutlery and put them in the sink to wash later. He followed me in so the diversion plan failed.
"And that's why you let me in so willingly, because you've never had such attention. And -"
He stopped and looked at me.
"You're a virgin!"
"What?!"
"Oh my god! Of course you are!"
I blushed hard and, exasperated, tried to push him out of the kitchen. He obliged but didn't stop talking the whole way out.
"That makes so much sense now!"
"Get out."
"That's why you are so close to me all the time."
"Are you calling me clingy?"
"No I'm calling you loving. Difference."
I rolled my eyes shutting the door in his face. Why did I have to have a crush on the one guy who has all capability to play with my emotions? I can blush on cue, turn to clingy within seconds and shut him out the next. It's as if I'm a puppet for him.
"Hey, cool down."
I turned to the closed door. How did he know I was getting angry?
"It's really not hard to hear your footsteps pacing up and down the kitchen. What are you thinking about?"
"Promise not to tease?"
"You have my word."
I opened the door and he came in, relieved to see he had a breakthrough.
"So?"
"I'm gonna vent."
"I don't mind."
"I didn't ask for permission. It was a warning."
He raised his arms in surrender as I began.
"Why did I have to meet you? Not in a mean way but you can toy with my emotions in a click of a finger and muck me up. Sailing, last night? Childhood song. How did you know? Because you're freaking telepathic. You are the biggest creator of innuendos and ways to make me blush and tease me further when I do. I feel like a puppet and you've got the strings. But most importantly why did I have to fall in love with you? Why -"
I covered my mouth realising my mistake.
"Love?"
"I - I meant friendship."
"Fall in friendship. Metaphorical."
I didn't respond.
"You love me don't you?"
"I -"
"If you can deny it looking into my eyes I will leave you for good."
"I - I - I can't."
I looked down annoyed at myself.
"Thank god that it's requited then."
"What?"
"I love you too honey."
He came into a hug with his arms around my back.
"Don't forget that. I'm not going to be a boyfriend of a guy who's not sure if he is even loved."
I nodded against his chest smelling his sweet cologne. Damn that's good.
"Now, let's get changed and visit your friend at the hospital huh?"
I nodded eagerly tossing Andy a few of my clothes to change into.
"You wear suits?"
"Usually. Yeah, why?"
"How boring is that? I need to look like a boyfriend not your lawyer."
I sighed searching for a t shirt and jeans for him as I wore a suit.
"Hi, uh, Lin-Manuel Miranda?"
"Room 525."
I nodded heading towards the elevator.
"You seem to know your way around here."
"No shit."
"Oh god. Struck a nerve. Sorry mate."
I nodded as we waited to get to floor 5, the elevator finally stopped and we left to find Lin's room. I gave three sharp knocks before hearing a raspy
"Come in."
I proceeded to open the door and Andy followed me in.
"I didn't know I was in the presence of a guest."
"Uh, yeah. Lin this is Andy, Andy, Lin."
They shook hands as Lin looked between us for a while, studying our held hands.
"So, would I be right in thinking that you two are..?"
Before I could answer Andy grabbed my jaw and kissed me hard as I crumbled beneath him.
"PDA guys. PDA."
We broke off as my face was a fiery red.
"But I'm happy for you. And, not to go protective father on you but, Andy, you're his first love. Don't fuck it up."
I raised my eyebrows at his language but he said it all through a smile. Winking at me when I looked at him.AN: Whoop! Whoop! See ya in the next chapter!
