Lin's POV:
The rest of the journey was silent while I cradled her in my arms. She quietly sobbed into my t-shirt as I thought things through, hugging her loosely in my arms.
"L-L-Lin?"
"Yes Hun?"
"Th-this is our stop."
I blinked out of my wondering and, one again, I carried her all the way home laying her down on the bed. I then shortly returned with two cups of hot chocolate as she smiled weakly. To make her happier hers had whipped cream, marsh mellows and chocolate shavings on top while mine was a mere hot chocolate. We simply lay there staring at the ceiling for most of the night until about one in the morning when she turned and went to sleep. My eyes occasionally tried to close but I had too much to think about while she was asleep. Tallying it down I reached a conclusion:
Only child,
Grandparents died before her birth,
Parents murdered,
No family.
I guessed all of this till I grabbed her phone to check I was right. I know I shouldn't go on her phone since she got so upset about it but I was desperate. I scanned through her contacts for any family... I then saw it. Uncle Tim! I completely forgot about uncles and aunts! I left the room and called him
"What the fuck do you want you little bitch?! You always call me asking for help but you're too fucking expensive. Go find someone who gives a shit."
"Thankfully that's me."
"Who the fuck are you?"
So much for that. I ended the call and returned her phone to the exact place I found it then hugged her tighter than before. She did have a family, but the only remaining family was her uncle and I understood her sadness now. The only people who cared about her in her family were her parents. Screw the family, I'll care for her. I'll love her, I'll cherish her and I'll always, always, look after her with my uttermost affection. She doesn't need her uncle. She'll have me.

Stacy's POV:
I awoke to see Lin cuddling me, he looked like he got no sleep all night so I let him be. I wanted to make a breakfast that showed my love for him, and my forgiveness but I don't know what to do.
"A) I'm Puerto Rican"
Gotcha. I looked for recipe cookbooks and found the perfect one.

   Farina:
1 cup of water and
pinch of salt to a near
boil. Remove from heat.
  Add 1/4 cup of Creamy
Wheat Farina cereal slowly
and stir continuously.
Return to burner and bring
to boil. Lower heat  and cook
for 3 minutes till thickened,
stir constantly.

Following this recipe I eventually had some Farina for Lin's breakfast. I didn't make any for myself since I didn't want to steal his moment of having a Puerto-Rican breakfast. I laid my cereal and his Farina on the table then added a dish in the middle where I sprinkled spices into the Puerto Rican flag. I knew it was a waste, but I could buy more. Besides, it's due date was today anyway. I heard Lin rush downstairs calling my name as I replied
"Over here!"
He turned and ran into the lounge and his breath hitched seeing the Farina.
"Stacy." He breathed. "You know you didn't have to do this right?"
"I wanted to thank you for yesterday. You were soaked when you spotted me so I can only assume you jumped into the lake for my phone and I heard the message you left me."
"Stacy, I hope you know I meant every word in that message."
"Cute, but I want to know how well I can cook Farina if you don't mind."
As he settled down I returned from the kitchen with some Piragua.
"Stacy. How did you get Piragua? They don't sell it for miles."
"I made it."
He then rushed to try some and made an act of how much he loved it.
"Mmmmmmmmmm..."
"You don't have to pretend you like it Lin. It was only my first try so I'm bound to muck up."
He gasped.
"Hun, if this is your first time there sure as hell won't be a last."
I laughed as he wolfed down the rest of his Farina and I respectfully ate my cereal.
"Hang on. How come you don't have Farina and I do?"
"I didn't want to spoil the moment since you were raised in Puerto Rico. I was raised here."
"Nope."
He took my bowl of cereal and placed it in the kitchen returning with another spoon.
"For you m'lady."
I smiled as he stated we were now sharing.
"Mmmmmmmmmmmm..."
"Like it?"
"Love it."
"My, how you tried to miss out on this I'll never know."
I gave him a warning look to stop him from repeating his catchphrase but he ignored it.
"Buuuttttt, you never cease to amaze me Hun."
I groaned as he laughed. Then abruptly stopped to go to the kitchen returning with another Piragua.
"You ain't missing out on this as well Hun, I mean, one of the songs from In The Heights is named after it!"
I laughed and gratefully took the Piragua sipping on the sweet taste.
"Is this?"
"Mango. Enjoy Hun."
He clinked glasses with me as we quietly enjoyed the taste.
"So Hun, Puerto Rican dishes eh?"
"Wanted to show you how thankful I was for you being..." I paused.
"Me being?"
"For you being you." I nodded my head in thought as he chuckled and lifted his Piragua.
"I propose a toast." I interrupted him.
"Toast to the groom?"
He rolled his eyes and continued.
"A toast to us being us."
"To our union." He laughed but clinked glasses anyway as we finished our Piragua's. And for an hour, maybe two, I completely forgot about my parents. And maybe, just maybe, my life might be easier to handle than I thought.
