Lin's POV:
"Thought I'd pay an early visit."
I didn't dare move in case he pulled the trigger but it didn't stop the adrenaline pumping through my veins until I heard a voice I knew all too well.
"And I for you!"
A gunshot rang as I leaped to the floor covering my head in case of any glass etc. But instead of the glass blades a comforting hand rested on my shoulder.

"Vanessa?"

Stacy's POV:
Lying in my hospital bed I couldn't help but feel that Lin was in trouble and I couldn't do anything to help him. See I don't know how but once you love someone to the length it could almost break you it is something that comes with it, feeling your partners hurt and fear. Jon was with me right now in case I needed anything and after long debating in my head I finally decided to tell him what I knew.
"Lin is in trouble."
"Look Stace, I know he's got the fight tomorrow but he'll be fine he's a good guy."
"No. This is different. He's in danger right now."
With that Jon told me to stay put and he headed down to check in for me whether Lin was ok or not. I would usually settle these thoughts on nerves but this time... I wasn't so sure.

Lin's POV:
"Vanessa?"

"I'll explain later but right now you need to get out of here. Anywhere you can go?"
"Hospital. Stacy's there."
I saw how Vanessa's face fell when I mentioned Stacy but that's for later as she said. She signalled for me to leave and just as I left the house Jon's car rushed in the driveway. Without explanation I got in and simply said
"Hospital."
He obliged silently as I thought of what I could tell Stacy. I'm just as confused as she'll be, don't get me wrong I'm glad I was assisted but Vanessa? Why Vanessa? I've hurt her so much yet she still saves me?! I noticed Jon's occasional side glances at me but ignored them since my first priority right now is my fiancé. Within a few minutes Jon parked outside but I had already opened the car door before he stopped driving causing him to become more concerned. I jogged up to her room but stopped outside the door. Should I tell her? She's already stressed. It would only make things worse. In the end I plastered a smile upon my face and entered the room watching her face light up in my presence.
"Sweetie! Are you okay?"
"I'm fine Hun, Jon came over to check on me because of your panic so I dropped by. Completely fine."
"Not to intrude but you don't look fine Lin."
I gave a meaningful look to Jon as he went silent understanding the situation.
"Sweetie? If there is anything I'm right here. I mean I'm not allowed out of this bed so I will probably be right here."
I chuckled as she smiled up at me.
"Tell you what Jon, you go and I'll stay the night with her."
"You sure?"
I nodded and he hesitatingly left the room stealing a last look before the door closed behind him. Drama queen. Quite literally. As soon as he left Stacy sat up in bed and gave me a deadpan look.
"Okay. No shit. What happened."
I let out a long sigh thinking I couldn't fool Stacy, she knows me too well.
"Fine... The man came when I got back in the house and held a gun to my temple."
She gasped as I lightly smiled at her.
"However before he shot the last person in the world I expected came to stop him..."
"Who?"
"Vanessa Nadal."
A hint of confusion washed over her but she swept it aside for me to continue.
"She too had a gun and shot the man assisting me out of the god damn place."
It was silent for a while as Stacy took it all in.
"Lin. How did Vanessa know he was there?"
"She... Umm... I actually don't know."
"Aaaaannnnnndddddddd the plot thickens."
I laughed as I assisted her back into a laying position. But the Vanessa question remained in my mind. How did she know? I wanted to think it was a coincidence but maybe Stacy is right. Maybe the plot thickens...

Stacy's POV:
I smiled seeing Lin's face while he was thinking, it was all scrunched up in confusion making him look adorable. It reminded me of when I first announced my love for him. I was in a hospitable bed, him by my side, unknowing of our future and here we are. Fiancés in a world of war and hidden links between our friends and relatives. Links which I'm still not sure are a good idea to discover yet or leave for a better time. But when will that time be? The life of a couple. I imagined it a lot less confusing and dangerous as this.

Lin's POV:
"She seems okay so I believe you can take her home Mr Miranda."
I carried her out of bed and called a taxi since Jon had left. In a few minutes me and her were in the back of the car with her head resting on my shoulder. I told the driver the address and lifted Stacy's chin to see she had been crying.
"Where are we going?"
"Home Hun."
"Where is home anymore?"
She let out another flood of tears on my shoulder as I changed the destination to my parents house. Let's hope they're inside.
"Madre? Padre?"
They both rushed to greet me.
"Hijo!"
"This is my wiiiffffeee- I mean fiancé Stacy."
She laughed nervously however my mistake was intended.
"What brings you two here then?"
"Stacy has just left hospital and she must rest but I will tell you once she's well rested."
I looked up to see my parents faces brimming with pride.
"¡Esta mí hijo! Already so caring. Of course she can rest here, there is a room upstairs on the second left which will be fitting."
I nodded in thanks and took her to the assigned room seeing it had a double bed. I rolled my eyes and then heard my parents shout:
"GET US SOME GRANDKIDS!!!"
Stacy laughed as I blushed rambling about if she didn't feel comfortable in the same room I could sleep elsewhere etc. but she interrupted.
"It's fine sweetie, everything's going to be okay."
Man I wish I could believe that right now.
