Lin's POV:
I stayed watching the closed door for a while hoping Stacy would come back but she didn't. Oh well. I turned to my parents' oven and briefly figured out which buttons and nozzles do what, then started.
"WE ARE HUNGRYYYYYY!!!!!"
Everything was going well as I dished up. I prided myself giving Stacy extra bacon and eggs simply because it's her favourite. Ok. Bacon is dished up, Eggs are dished up, Baked Beans are dished up, Eggy Bread is on the side, Sausages are dished up and Mushrooms and tomatoes are on the side. That's it right? I shrugged it off picking up the dishes and taking them to the kitchen.
"Woah. Need help with those sweetie?"
"Nope."
I replied popping the 'p'. Having my first job as a waiter in McDonalds did teach me how to hold dishes by the dozen to which I have kept with me throughout the years. I lay them out and watched Stacy's reaction to the extra bacon and eggs out of the corner of my eye, I smiled in achievement.
"Wow son, has she trained you?"
Both mum and Stacy burst out laughing as I went along with it sitting down next to Stacy.
"Yeesh, yeah. Has me on a leash the entire time."
Everyone laughed as we served ourselves in the make shift buffet I'd prepared. Not to brag but I was pretty proud of myself, I mean, combining pretty much all of the breakfasts to make a huge buffet is definitely a skill. But while watching Stacy eat, I knew I could never match with her talent. How I even managed to get her to go on a date with me is beyond the question let alone marrying!
"Lin?"
"Lin?"
"Lin!"
"LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA!"
"Oh Jeez, Full name."
"There you are!"
"Sorry got distracted by the love of my life -"
"- again."
My mother commented as she rolled her eyes but I brushed it off like it didn't bother me.
"Can I help it? She's way out of my league and she's marrying me!"
This time both my parents and Stacy rolled their eyes as I laughed.
"Sweetie you are so -"
"Sooooo..?"
"Over dramatic."
All three said in unison.
"Good! I am sort of an actor?"
"You're not sort of an actor Sweetie, you're an acting legend who will go down in history."
"Mmmm I'm definitely not the best out there. There's probably an eight year old who is writing a 5 act musical right now."
"Lin, you were that eight year old however the musical wasn't good enough for Broadway. You're viewed as a modern Shakespeare right now. The world of young writers look to you as their idol, you are a saint and a star."
I held back a sob at those words and simply smiled in gratitude. In my whole life I've never dreamed of anyone saying that to me, comparing me to such a literary icon such as the bard himself. I was way too emotional to speak. My mum gave me a meaningful look from across the table saying everything. She knew how much those sentences meant to me and to my entire view of writing. I was so humbled. My dad easily broke this moment though,
"I don't know about you guys but I am finished."
We all looked down at our plates to see them empty.
"Volunteers for washing up?"
"Me & Stacy."
I simply blurted it out but I wanted to thank her somewhere more private. We all laughed at Stacy's face of annoyance collecting the dishes after me. I shut the door and locked it behind us once again as Stacy began running the tap water.
"Stacy..."
"Oh god, what did I do if you're not calling me Hun?"
"I being serious. What you just said, I-"
I started to break down as she rushed to comfort me.
"What is it? Are you alright?"
"Y-You think I'm viewed as a modern Shakespeare?"
"Yes? You're not viewed you're idolised as many would agree."
She quickly realised why I was crying and smiled.
"Oh Lin, sweetie, don't ever think your work is of a small standing next to others, you are way too good for this world right now."
"Th-That's what they say on T-Twitter."
"And do you actually acknowledge it? You are the silver lining of the headlines without even trying to be. And you will be my husband tomorrow, if anything, that makes me want to break down in tears of gratitude! You chose me! Out of everyone in the world somehow I was picked when the first time you saw me I was splashed by a puddle."
I quietly laughed at that one. I mean there was a lack of a special moment there.
"And Lin?"
I looked up,
"I know you're an emotional wreck but I wanted to tell you, I'm pregnant!"
With no words to say I pulled her arms towards me and kissed her with all the passion I could muster with tears running down my face, we broke apart to catch our breath with our foreheads pressed together.
"Stacy Stacy Stacy, as if I couldn't love you anymore."
She laughed as I pulled her into a tight hug, I was simply way too happy and way too grateful to care about anything right now apart from her and our child. Wow. It feels so good to say that. Me and Stacy's child. Mini Miranda. Our child. Our hijo. Our hija.
"You okay in there? How long does it take to wash up?!"
My parents started to knock on the door so I simply unlocked it still hugging Stacy.
"Wow, everything alright?"
"¡Estamos teniendo un niño!" We are having a child!
Now it was my parents turn to break down, they ran to me and Stacy taking turns to hug us tightly and cried with joy. I ran to Stacy kissing her again as she smiled against my lips.
"I take it you two need some time together?"
Me and Stacy nodded still looking into each others eyes as my parents began to pack some picnic stuff and sent us on our way for a long walk together.
"Wow."
I turned to look at the love of my life as she met my eye contact.
"I love you so much sweetie,"
"And I for you Hun, I can't wait for us to be parents, you will be the best mother."
"You will be the most inspiring father to look up to, just give the little one a pen and you've created a rising star."
"And tomorrow you will be my wife."
"Yup."
"Wait, we have the cake? Invitations sent? Clothing bought? Entertainment booked? After party sorted? Rings bought?"
"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes and the last one I don't know because usually the groom does it."
I laughed,
"Of course I have the rings, two of the little haribos right?"
"I love you so much Lin."
"¿Siempre?"
"Siempre y para siempre."
