Chapter Nine- A Date...?

(Your POV)

It's been about five days since I met and started hanging out with 2D... I'm still wondering how out of all Gorillaz fans I'm the person who actually got this chance. It just seems too good to be true...

But of course there's still work. I like my job well enough, and the pay's good, but... Well, that's enough for now.

While I was working, (Y/RT) started playing. Since this article wasn't due for another three days, I decided I had time to answer- although once I realized it was 2D I knew I would've answered it if the article was due in five minutes.

"Hello?" I said. "Hey, (Y/N), I was just gonna ask yew somefink..." Holding back a giggle at how adorably nervous he sounded, I said, "okay, what is it?" "Well, yew know that movie that's comin' out in about two days...?" Thinking for a moment, I said, "yeah, uh, Noodle mentioned that to me." 2D muttered something I couldn't hear before continuing, "well, ah, if yew would be available... Would yew like to see it wif' me?"

I sat there for a moment, comprehending what he just said- he wanted to go to a movie with me? I quickly pushed a few pesky ideas out of my mind- meeting the singer of my favorite band was one thing, him wanting to go on a date with me was just unrealistic!

Realizing he was still waiting for an answer, I quickly recomposed my mind and said, "y-yeah, sure!" Damnit, I stuttered.

He seemed rather relieved before saying, "well, it starts 'round six, so I'll pick ya up at five-thirty or so, 'kay?"

"Alright. Thursday, right?" "Right." "Well, uh, see you then!" "Right... Bye."
I put the phone down, and one thought was going through my head:

"...What just happened?"

(2D's POV)

Noodle was right, she said yes! Phew... I guess I'll have to thank her. Well, depending on how things go.

Heh, take that, Murdoc.

(Noodle's POV)

Okay, so it might be kind of weird to listen through your friend/ mentally adopted older brother's door every time he's talking on the phone, but... My plan worked! And (Y/N) seems a lot nicer than Toochi's other girlfriends have been... Well, I never met Paula, but I know what happened there... Anyways, I'm going to run before he realizes I was listening.

(2D's POV)

A few minutes after I called (Y/N), I got a text from her.

(Y/N): quick question. Would you consider this a date?

I thought for a moment before responding how Noodle had told me to:

2D: only if u want it to be.

(Y/N): wait, really?

2D: yeah, why not?

(Y/N): um... Okay!

Because I was alone, I couldn't help but jump up hapily, grinning like an idiot. I can't believe she actually agreed!

I really need to listen to Noodle more often.
