It was time to get back. It felt right and we felt so much stronger. We needed to clear our heads and just work on us. We just needed a little of time to just reconnect. We're great more stable then most people these days, but sometimes you need to take a step away to realize all you already have.
We were more than ready to get back to work. 6 weeks felt different, hard, but great. We were ready for things to just be normal for us again. We were ready to be back to our normal crazy lives. We smiled as we saw everyone " hey guys!" Severide looked at us " your back... how was Florida?" I smiled " a nice getaway..." Matt laughed " relaxing.... were good!"
Chief saw us " Casey...Dawson. How was the trip?" Matt looked at me " good... nice to getaway for a while.." He smiled " glad you had a good time." I nodded " yeah we did."
Just as things started. We got right into everything. This was our life back together again.
