Zoey Leslie Casey 9 pounds 2 ounces and incredibly cute. 

Zoey's birth wasn't actually now I wanted it to happen but either way I'm happy. She made it into the world safely, surrounded by everyone who is close to her in her life. She was a combination of Matt and I. She was beautiful honestly. Matt kissed my forehead " she's perfect... just like her momma..." I smiled " she's got some her dads amazing good looks too.." 

I looked at Matt " I'm a little tired.." He looked at me and grasped my hand " get some rest baby.." Matt held Zoey " come here baby girl..." 

He walked around holding her in his arms. She was so peaceful and chill right now. She has hardly cried. Everyone started to come to visit. Everyone started to come into the room. Matt held his hand up " shhh... shhh..shh!" Hermann looked at me, sleeping away " sorry... she's sleeping.." Matt nodded " yeah.. she's exhausted and hasn't slept much lately..." He nodded " so this is your little girl..." Matt smiled " This is Zoey... Zoe this is your uncle Hermann... Otis.. and everyone... you really have a bigger family than you probably imagined in there.. huh.." 

a few hours later 

I woke up and was feeding Zoey. Matt looked at Zoey eating " she's really good at that.." I smiled " she really is..." My dad came in our room " hi mija!" I smiled " hi dad... oh Zoey's done eating." I held Zoey in my arms " dad this is Zoey your granddaughter..." He smiled " Zoey... she's beautiful!" He looked at me " can I hold her.." I smiled " of course.." He held her " hi Zoey.. it's grandpa or your abuelo I guess... you look just like your momma..." My dad looked at me " I'm sorry for everything... life is good now. I have a new job and place things are better now.." I smiled " I'm happy for you dad.." He smiled " and maybe... when you get settled back at home we could start having dinners as a family..." Matt smiled " we would really like that..." 

A month later

Zoey is a month old. Everything has been great. We have been having more time with my dad and the family. Things have been great. I guess we are doing better than ever. Matt and I went out to dinner with Zoey for the first time ever. I held Zoey in my arms " hey pretty girl..." I saw a familiar little boy. I looked at Matt " look..." Matt looked at me " Louie...?" I smiled " Louie!" He turned and ran to me. I smiled " hi buddy..." His dad followed him " oh hi..." I smiled " hi it's nice running into you guys..." He smiled slightly " yeah... so you have a little girl now..?" I smiled " yeah we had her about 6 weeks ago..." He nodded " well congratulations..." I smiled " thanks..." Matt asked " well so things are good..." He nodded " very.. Louie's doing good and he's in preschool now... he's doing good." I smiled " thats great... we always wanted the best for him still do." He nodded : of course... and what's your little girls name..?" I smiled " Zoey..." He smiled " thats a pretty name..." I smiled " thank you..." I looked at Louie " buddy... this is Zoey... she's almost practically your sister in a way.." His dad smiled " maybe we should get together sometime... you guys care so much about him..." 

Things seemed weird after that encounter but it was almost normal. It felt good. It's a great reminder of new beginnings.
