The light is shining in through these sheer pink curtains. I realize where I am when I fully open my eyes to see a sweet little 5 year old cuddled up next to me.
Reese is still sleeping and it's only 8 am. The house is completely silent and I just feel so calm and worry free right now.
I reach for my phone and see 2 texts from my dad. The first one is him worried why I'm not home yet, and the second is him telling me to sleep tight t because Myta let him know that I'm spending the night.
Myta is a blessing from God I swear!!
I scroll of Instagram and send a snap chat streaks picture of perfect little sleeping Reese.
I see the bedroom door crack open, it's Zach!!
I slowly sit up in bed, so I don't disturb Reese. Zach mouths something to me along the lines of "shhh, wake Reese up, then point at me" or something like that.
Reese is sleeping facing me in the bed with her back towards the door and Zach.
I slowly start to stroke Reese's hair and I kiss her forehead. She starts to wake up and gives me the biggest smile in the world. This girl is so precious!!
"Good morning sunshine," I say with a calm quiet voice.
"y/n, what time is it?" she asks.
"8:15 sweetheart. I think your mom is downstairs making breakfast. Do you want to go get some food?
"mhm" she replies and she rubs her eyes.
"Ok Reese, but before we can get food, look who's here," I say as I point to Zach.
Her face lights up so fast!! "ZACHEY YOURE HOME!!!" she exclaims.
"Hi babygirl, I missed you so much." he says in the most gentle voice.
We walk downstairs, Reese being carried by Zach, of course.
"Good morning everybody," Myta says as she comes around and kisses everyone on the forehead, including me.
"It's just a thing she does." Zach whispers to me after Myta walks away to flip the pancakes.
I give him a smile and then we all sit down at the kitchen table.
Ryan comes down shortly after we did.
"Wheres dad?" asks Zach.
"Oh honey, dad had to leave for his early Thursday morning business meeting. You kids may be in summer but your father still has to work!!"
Myta is a stay at home mom and Mr. Herron happens to work for the same computer company that my dad will begin working for on Monday. Pretty cool that both of our dads work at the same place.
We all eat breakfast and talk about our plans for the next few days.
"Mom can we go tubing tomorrow??" Zach asks. Ryan and Reese chime in and next thing you know all three of them are begging her!
"Well I don't see why not, but you have to check with your father to see if he can take off work tomorrow." Myta replies.
Zach texts his dad and he responds back with "yes, what a perfect way to celebrate having you back home!"
"Oh mom also, can y/n come?" Zach asks.
I was sitting there kind of awkwardly since they were talking about family plans and I was just listening to everything. Zach must have seen that I was uncomfortable, he managed to save me.
"Yes, of course!!" Myta replied with a smile.
Reese gets all excited and grabs my arm and bounces up and down in her seat.
"Thank you for breakfast Myta. Congrats on the band's success, Zach!!" I say as I walk out the door.
I can't wait for tomorrow, I haven't been tubing since I was like 10 and now I'm almost 16 so this should be... interesting :)
