I changed the photographer's name from Austin to August since their photographer in real life is named August!!
1 month later... beginning of January
Today we are having my maternity photo shoot.
Zach and I asked August to do it, and he said yes!! We wanted the photos to be on the beach at El Matador State Beach in Malibu.
The huge rocks there are beautiful and I think it will be the perfect spot.
"Almost ready?" Zach asks as I run my hands through my loose curls.
"Yup!! Can you put the bags in the car?" I ask, breaking the focus on myself in the mirror to turn his way.
Zach nods and walks out of our bathroom.
Since August was doing a photo shoot for the boys today anyways, they are coming with us to the beach and we will all take pictures there together.
After an hour long drive, the boys, Christina, Ally, and I get out of the car and begin getting everything ready.
I brought chalkboard picture frames so we can write messages on them for the pictures.
My dress is creme/white and stands out against the gray rocks.
First, Zach and I have our pictures taken just the two of us.
"Ok Y/n put your hands on your stomach. Zach, stand behind Y/n and put your hands on hers. Perfect just like that, now Y/n look over your shoulder at Zach." August says.
After taking a few pictures like that, Ally hands Zach a chalkboard picture frame with the words "Baby Herron" written in pink with little bows drawn all over and an arrow pointing to the left.
"Zach hold it up just a little bit higher, ok good. Smile right here." August directs.
We take pictures with 2 more chalkboards, reading "We can't wait to meet you!" and "Daddy's little girl".
Now it's time for the big "family photo". The boys pile in behind us with Zach right next to me. I'm holding a frame that says "I have the best uncles ever"
Next, Ally and Christina join us and the boys step out of the picture and we rewrite it to say "aunts" instead of uncles.
After 4 hours or so of shooting, we decide to head home.
I changed out of the dress into comfortable clothes and sat down on the couch as Zach made dinner.
We are putting the finishing touches on the nursery since she will be here in almost a month.
We decided on a name and had it carved into wood to hang on the wall. "Do you think the the name sign is ready?" I question.
I sit up a little more on the couch so we can see each other. "Probably, we ordered it last week. Do you want to go pick it up after dinner?" He says over the marble counter.
"Yeah, I'm so excited Zach!! It's the very last thing we need to do, besides buying more clothes of course." I laugh.
"My goodness, baby girl is going to have a different outfit for every day if you keep up with this pace," Zach responds jokingly.
We finish our dinner and go to pick up the name decoration. The font is cursive and matches with the wood flooring.
"Aww Zach, It's exactly what I wanted," I exclaim when the carpenter hands it to us.
We drive home and hang it up in baby Herron's room.
"Perfect!" I sigh leaning on Zach.
The next day Ally and Christina pick me up around 2:00 pm and we have a lunch date, then we have another shopping day...what a surprise.
We went to Target, Toys R Us, and Old Navy.
"Awww look at this!!!" Ally squeals holding up a pink onesie that says "If my mom says no, my aunt will say yes."
"Oh my gosh that's adorable," I say as she hands it to me, immediately tossing it into the already full shopping cart.
By the time we finish shopping it's dark outside. I spent about $250 on more clothes and of course, Ally and Christina bought her some things too.
"Baby girl is spoiled...and she's not even born yet" I laugh.
They drop me back off at home and my 8 months pregnant-self waddles into my house with 3 big bag fulls of clothes and baby toys.
Zach rushes over to me and takes the bags from my hands. "Wow, going a little overboard are we?"
"You know you can't trust me when it comes to shopping with Ally and Christina..."I shrug laughing.
Once I get into a loose hoodie and some yoga pants, I put the newly bought clothes in the washer and begin to hang up the load that just came out of the dryer.
Luckily, her closet is pretty big so we don't have to worry about running out of space, yet!
By 9:00 pm I'm sitting in bed, extremely tired out from an exhausting day on my feet.
Zach joins me an hour later when I'm on the last chapter of this book I've been reading called Ina May's Guide to Childbirth since I'm planning on having a natural home water birth...it's what I've always wanted.
"Zach, you wouldn't believe some of the tips and tricks in this book!! We can totally do this." I say as he climbs into bed.
"WE? Babe, you mean YOU. I'm not the one pushing out a human" He chuckles.
"Well, you will have to put up with me...and according to this book I will not be fun to be around," I say turning the light off on my nightstand.
"Childbirth isn't supposed to be easy, I'm prepared to help you as much as I can!" he responds.
I lay down with my fifty thousand pillows all around me and attempt to get comfortable.
"Goodnight Zach, I love you," I whisper.
He leans over and gives me a gentle kiss on the lips. "I love you too, Y/n. And I love you, baby girl." He adds slowly stroking my belly as baby girl kicks uncontrollably.
A/N- be ready for the next chapter guys, the baby will arrive!!
Comment your guess for her name down below. Here's a hint: It starts with a vowel ;)
