Ch 29- Fighting for attention

Zach's POV

Tour starts in 2 days and we have been grinding harder than ever. Each song has different dance moves to go with it, they are super complicated but if we pull it off it's gonna be sick.

It's 10 pm now and we've been working pretty much all day putting the finishing touches on the performances for tour. 

"Ok guys take a 15-minute break," Wyatt says.

This is our last break since Wyatt wants us to work for another hour and then we'll be done for the night. During the breaks, Y/n and I have been relaxing on the couch getting to spend a little bit of time together. 

I look around for her but can't find her anywhere, I peek my head outside and see her talking with Shane.

"Hey what are you guys doing?"I ask while walking to them and putting my arm around Y/n.

"Oh we are just deciding on what songs to sing on the different tour stops," Shane replies quickly.

"Ok, I bet you will sound great!" I kiss her head and walk back inside leaving the two of them out there alone.

I think Shane likes her, but I'm doing everything in my power to make it super obvious that she's off limits.

After a long exhausting day of rehearsal Shane, James, and Wyatt leave and the house is peaceful.

October 2nd....

Y/n and I wake up earlier than everyone else in the house and start making a big breakfast for everyone. We want to be able to all enjoy a calm meal in our home together since we won't get to do this for 2 months.

Shane arrives an hour later, we all get in the Uber and head to the airport.

Since Vancouver is a long drive from LA, we decided to fly there and our tour bus driver left last night to meet us there by the time that the performance is over.

The flight was about 3 hours and managed to go by pretty quickly.

We grab some food and head to the venue right after landing in Canada.

The space we have rented is huge!! It's so surreal to think that I get to travel around the country with my 4 best friends and my girlfriend at the age of 16, I'm so lucky.

A few hours later everything is ready and we are about to go on stage.

"Hey guys, this is the Why Don't We's first stop on this tour, are you excited?" James shouts causing the crowd to go crazy.

We all hold hands in a circle and begin to pray. Then we put our hands in the huddle and shout a cheer before the 5 of us run out on stage one by one.

I am the last one to go on, I kiss y/n quickly and she wishes me luck.

"I'll see you out there in a few minutes!!" I say as I turn my microphone on and go out on stage.

We talk to the fans a little bit before I introduce Y/n.

"Everyone please welcome to the stage the most talented girl I know, my girlfriend y/n y/ln!!" I say pointing to my right as she runs on the stage.

"Hey everybody!!" She exclaims.

We leave the stage to let Y/n sing her first song, she nails it perfectly.

Y/n introduces Shane and he sings one of his covers. 

They then begin singing a duet together, none of us knew what song they would choose to sing tonight in Vancouver.

"I'll go wherever you go, chasin through the streets of Monaco" Shane starts.

"I'll run wherever you are, I trust the rivers lead me to your heart." Y/n sings after him.

I overhear Jonah and Daniel talking about how much they love this song by MKTO.

Why are they singing this song? 

"Why don't you close your eyes and we can leave it all behind," Shane says while he grabs her right hand with his left, taking a step closer to Y/n.

I'm more frustrated now than ever because I can see her smiling and she looks up at him with those flirty eyes that she only gives me. 

I start to walk towards the stage, ready to punch this guy.

Corbyn grabs my arm and pulls me back. "Zach calm down. Talk to her after they are done singing when she comes off stage. Don't make a scene and ruin our first show on this tour." 

He's right, I turn around and grab a water bottle out of the mini fridge before sitting down and trying to calm myself.

We have a 10-minute break in between the opening acts and the main performance. 

"Good job you two," Daniel says as they walk off stage.

I go up to Y/n who is smiling uncontrollably. 

"I did it, Zach!! And it wasn't even that scary!!" she exclaims.

"I'm so proud of you." I kiss her making sure Shane can see us.

"By the way, the hand-holding thing was for show...just wanted to make sure you knew that." Y/n says planting another kiss on my cheek.

This reassured me so I didn't even both mentioning that it upset me.

The rest of the show was a hit and we had such an incredible crowd who sang every single song with us.

Tour stop 1 was a major success.
