The Babysitter//Zach Herron

Ch 6- The Lake Part 2

... 

Zach says as he puts one arm around my back and the other on the side of my face and kisses me.

Yes, sparks were flying. I got the butterflies in the pit of my stomach and couldn't help myself but to kiss back.

This lasted for a minute or two until I pulled back slowly.

"Yeah, we could do that instead." I say while smiling and laughing.

The next hour and a half were spend cuddling, tanning, singing together, and making out.

By this time everyone is just now coming back from the hike.

"How was the hike guys?" I ask.

"It was great!! The turtle pond was overflowing with turtles of all sizes, theres never been this many turtles here before! You two totally should have come, you would have loved it" Myta says with excitement.

"What did you to do while we were gone?" asked Mr. Herron in a tone hinting at something. 

"Um, nothing much dad we just sat around and tanned and sang along to the radio." Zach says in a chill monotoned voice.

"Mhmmm sure Zach" Ryan says while making kissing noises at us and laughing.

Myta gives Ryan a dirty look. She looks at me, and then at Zach, and then back at me and then gets all giddy and smiles.

"I think they might be on to us." I whisper to Zach when no ones looking.

Zach just looks at me and smiles as he puts his hand on my thigh.

We finish off the day at the lake with a few more rounds of tubing and then dock the boat and head home. 

We part ways and I go into my house to shower and clean up. This lake water makes me feel all nasty.

Its about 7:30pm by now and my dad and I order takeout Chinese food.

We sit on the couch and watch some Survivor, our favorite show to watch together.

I head up to bed around 10 because Im exhausted and can barely keep my eyes open.

I get a text message from Zach.

           2am: y/n, come look outside your window

I rub my eyes to make sure I'm reading this right. Ok, its 2 am what does he want.

I hear little pebbles hitting my window.

"Im coming, Im coming" I mumble as I get out of my cozy bed and walk over to the window.

I look outside and Zach is there with a bouquet or red roses.

"Zach what are you doing?" 

He gets down on one knee and says, "Y/n y/mn y/ln, will you be my girlfriend?" 

Im smiling so big right now, even though I'm still half asleep.

I quietly walk downstairs and open up the front door and walk outside.

"Zachary Dean Herron, I would be honored to!!!" I say jumping into his arms and kissing him.

We stay like this for a minute before he puts me down and we say goodnight. 

Im now in bed just thinking about how only a few days ago my life was terrible. I was leaving my 3 best friends, I was moving a thousand miles away from my mom, and I didn't know anyone in my new town.

 Now I have the absolute BEST neighbors in the world, and I have a boyfriend who loves music just as much as I do!!

Could life get any better?
