Ch 17- Moving Forward

Tomorrow my dad and the Herron's are coming back to Dallas.

I'm going to miss acting like a married couple with Zach for an entire week...but it's ok because I know we both miss them.

Around 9am Zach and I get out of bed and decide to go for a morning jog with Rosie. When we get back we shower and then drive to our favorite bagel shop for breakfast.

"So, I was thinking about last night and the incident with my mom..." I start. "I almost feel guilty shutting her down like that, because she flew all the way out here just to apologize. But she caught me off guard and in that moment I wasn't ready to accept her apology, ya know?"

"Yeah, I guess her heart was in the right place it's just the timing was off and she should have asked to come first." He says taking a bite of his egg and sausage bagel.

"I'm ready to accept her apology now, but there's no way I'm inviting her over to talk face to face...that's too stressful. And I blocked her number and if I call her she will probably start calling me everyday trying to force her way back into my life." I sigh.

"Just send her an email, you could spend as much time as you need to make it perfect and you don't have to actually speak to her." 

"Good idea, thanks babe!!"

Zach grabs both our trash and puts it in the trashcan as I check my phone to see the time. It's now noon and we head out the door.

Myta texts Zach a grocery list and asks him to go shopping because they will be too understandably exhausted from their big trip to do it when they get back. 

Zach pulls into the Whole Foods parking lot and hands me the list on his phone.

An hour and $200 later we are finished and start packing the groceries into the trunk.

We arrive at home and unpack the bags into the kitchen. I grab my laptop from upstairs as Zach puts the last few items into the pantry.

I plop down on the couch and begin forming the email for my mother.

"Dear mom, 

Last night was very hectic and I feel like my mind wasn't open to what you had to say. Now thinking about what you said, I accept your apology. But that doesn't mean I want to move back to NC with you or try to work on our relationship. I am happy in Dallas with dad and the new life I've made here. Attempting to fix our relationship would be like shoving a puzzle piece into a puzzle thats already complete. 

I hope you understand,

Y/n"

I sigh in relief as I shut my laptop and toss it on the other side of the couch.

"Finished!" I say looking over my shoulder to Zach who's in the kitchen pouring us some lemonade.

Zach walks over and sets the cups on the coffee table. He sits down next to me and puts his arm around me, "Good job y/n, you're doing the right thing. I mean what if her she dies in a plane crash or something and you never told her you accepted her apology?"

"Wow thats very dark, but true" I reply.

"Hey Zach do the boys know that I'm moving into the new Beverly Hills house with you?  I ask out of the blue.

"Um no I don't think so, do you want to call them and tell them?" he asks.

"Yeah!! Wait Zach what if they aren't happy, what if they don't want me to move in. I'll be the only girl and what if that makes them uncomfortable?" I say nervously.

"Baby calm down. Corbyn already loves you and so do the other guys even though you haven't met in person yet!! I'm sure they will all be excited." Zach says kissing the top of my head.

We oovoo call them all at the same time and share the news.

"WHATTTTTTT OUR HOUSE IS GONNA BE SO LIT!!!" Jack shouts.

"Dang Zach aren't you lucky, 16 and moving to LA with your girlfriend??" Jonah jokes.

"Awwww I can't wait to see you again Y/n." Corbyn says.

"Ayyyye my man Zachhhhhh!!!! Daniel exclaims.

We talked for a few more minutes.

"See you guys in less than a week!!" Zach and I say before ending the call.

"Well that was a great reaction." I say laughing.

"See, I told you they would be stoked!" 

We relax and go swimming for the rest of the day. Our last day completely alone was spent well!!

A/N- Ok so I've had up to chapter 22 planned out since Wednesday and I already had it planned that in ch 14 the Herron's were going to go to Florida and the kids would get to go Disney World...Today Mr. Herron, Myta, Ryan, and Reese all went to Disney Land in California. Isn't that such weird timing oml.
