Grayson POV
She ran up to me as I was waiting for my mom to unlock the front door. I didn't want to talk to her but I knew I had to. We were best friends and it was ridiculous that she as doing this. We walked up to my room and I shut the balcony door so Jack couldn't hear from across the street.
"So"
"So what"
"I just wanted to say sorry"
"Sorry? That's all?"
"Yeah. I'm sorry for talking to your boyfriend"
"It's not just that, you knew what you were doing and you just kept flirting with him over and over. It's not okay. You used to do this all the time"
"I know, sometimes I can't help it"
"Well you need to try and control yourself because I promise if you do it again, we won't be friends."
"Geez. You're a little harsh aren't you?"
"No. I'm not. I have 12 stitches in the side of my hand because you couldn't stop flirting with my boyfriend."
"I said I was sorry"
"Sorry isn't enough anymore. It stopped being enough when you broke me and my boyfriend up in freshman year because you were hooking up with him. I'm sorry but I'm not accepting your apology right now. I have to think about if I still want our friendship after everything that's happened"
"Ok. I get it. I'm a horrible friend"
"You're right. You are sometimes"
She nodded and walked out of my room, shutting the door behind her. I collapsed on my bed and sighed. I didn't want to throw out our friendship but I don't know how much longer I could deal with this. I wasn't going to let her ruin another relationship.
I went downstairs to get some water and I came back up to my room. I texted the boys for a while and I fell asleep. I woke up about 12 the next day and I thought I was late for school until I realized it was Saturday. I scrolled through Instagram for a while and I got dressed.
There was a knock on my balcony door and Jack walked in. He grinned and pulled a bear out from behind him. It was that bear from Toy Story that smelled like strawberries.
"Awe you didn't have to do that Jack"
"I wanted to."
"Did you seriously drive all the way to the Disney store for this?"
"Yep. It was worth it."
"Awe thank you Jack."
He handed me the bear and I put it up to my face and smelled it. Yes. The wonderful smell of strawberries I thought and smiled at Jack. He was so sweet, I didn't know what I did to deserve him.
We watched a movie for a while and he got up to go to the bathroom. He left his phone out and it kept buzzing. I was curious so I looked at it.
Claire- hey jack
Claire - babe?
Claire - are we still on for later?
Claire - fine if you don't wanna answer me I'll assume that we still have plans and drive over
Claire- I'm at your house
Claire - where are you?
Claire- smh Jack.Who was Claire? Why did they have plans? I was so angry and confused. He came out of the bathroom and checked his phone as it buzzed again.
"Who's that babe"
"Nobody important"
"Really?"
"Yeah"
"Are you sure about that Jack? Seems like you have plans with her right now."
"I-I um no. You don't understand"
"Then explain it to me. Because it seems like you're dating this Claire girl."
"I'm not, at least not anymore. We did date once but we broke up before you moved here."
Whys she calling you babe?"
"I don't know. She was supposed to come by to give me my stuff. I don't know why she said babe"
"I'm not sure I believe that Jack. I trust you but that seems kinda weird"
"Then come with me, I'll show you that's all it is."
"Okay fine"
Hmmmmm. Whatcha think is going on
