"What?!" I said, after the coughing fit.
"Well, Roshan managed the team. And you must be good if you were hired by the ICC without the job experience quota of five years." She said. "The boss thought it would be okay."
"I thought I would start out small, you know." I said, red faced. "Like paperwork or even the Under-19 team."
"You'll be alright, I'm sure." She patted my back and left me to my cabin. I walked around and sat in the big chair and cursed my luck. I was sure that I would meet Virat again, I mean just my luck honestly.
Why?
A week later
Well, so far so good! I had finally managed to survive a week here and I've got to say, it was not so boring as I had thought! With Champions Trophy 2017 coming up, I had to run around, booking hotels and arranging buses to ply them to and fro from the stadium and back. Plus I had to make sure that the hotels had proper gyms and everything, so that everyone had ample space to work out.
Hot guys, working out, sweat dripping...
"Pihu!" My coworker, Sonakshi called me.
"Huh?" I answered, embarrassed that she had caught me daydreaming.
"We're planning a night out at the new club, Reita. Please please join us?" She said, linking her hands with mine. "After all the work you had to do, a cool off is necessary!"
"Sure," I giggled. "You didn't have to actually sweet talk me, it's fine."
"Oh, well." She turned around. "See you later then, loser."
"Haw!" I said after her, her laughter giving her away.
As I clocked out, it was almost 6:30pm. I quickly went to the metro and after fifteen minutes, reached the Bandra West station. I went home as fast as possible and then dressed up, taking an Ola to go to Reita. By the time I reached there, I was a mess.
"Oof, you look parched. Here, take some water." Shruti immediately jumped on me as I reached the table.
"You sure it's water na? You can't give Vodka to a dehydrated person." Parth said, laughing while Siddharth quickly followed.
"Arre, stop." I said, slumping down on the sofa at the cubicle the guys had come early and got it.
"The floor is so dense, guys." Shruti said. "I really don't think I'll dance. I'm happy with the drinks."
"Yaar, Shruti!" Parth says. "Don't be a spoilsport!"
"Chill guys." I said. "I'll stay with her and get wasted and then someone else can stay with her while we dance!" I cheered. "Don't worry, I'll try my best to get her drunk as well, so that she would dance." Everyone laughed.
"Let's get the party started!"
