Champions Trophy 2017
Warm up match 1
India vs New Zealand

"Stop worrying." I hugged him from the back as he sat on the bed, all decked out in his gear.

"It's my first major ICC tournament as captain." He said, looking at his bat. "What if we lose?"

"Then," I climbed down from the bed and kneeled down in front of him. "You lose with integrity. You lose knowing that the team was better than you, not that you didn't perform your 100%, okay?"

"Teams lose, teams win." I said, with him looking at me. "But only the teams who play with everything they've got, get remembered by legends."

He looked at me and suddenly hugged me tight.

"Where do you get these stuff, yaar?" He asked, mumbling into my shoulder.

"My dad told this to me when I applied for my first job." I said, putting my arms around his neck. "I just tweaked it a bit." I giggled.

"You'll be there, na?" He asked as he got up from the bed, looking at me.

"I'll be cheering on the sidelines." I promised him, sure of it.

"Four! Virat Kohli shows his phenomenal class after lunch." Manjrekar says in the commentary box, Boult agreeing with him.

"He really seems to be in the mood." He laughs. "It's really great to be going in the Champions Trophy with such sublime form. It's looking very good for India." Boult says, looking at the ground.

"Here's another four just off the long end!" Boult says, cheering.

"He really has class, form and finesse in his shots, let me tell you that." Manjrekar says. "And his strike rate is off the charts. He delivers in all matches, whether it be in batting and when he's not in form, his fielding."

"Oh who's that?" Boult says, looking at the camera. "That must be his missus?"

"That's his girlfriend." Manjrekar says. "Maybe it's her." He laughs.

"I mean, I don't blame Kohli for hitting off now." Boult laughs. "If my missus was here, I would show off how good I was, too."

"Didn't I tell you that you had nothing to worry about?" I spoke to him as we went back to the room to change for dinner.

"True. But we won by D/L." He hummed.

"Winning is winning. As long as you don't cheat." I laughed. "Plus, you scored a fifty!"

"Ya, ya." He said, looking at me. "Waise, was it your first time seeing me play?"

"Oh, don't be so cocky." I said, looking at him smirking. "Yes, okay."

"Don't worry, I'll put on a better show for you in the next match." He said, as the elevator doors opened.

"Aw, you're too kind." I said, sarcastically.
