NOW THE CHAPTER...

AMELIA

I couldn't move from my spot as I watched the last important man of my life walk away. I couldn't understand why I was acting so incompetent. I was sure Dimitri was the right choice but when I watched William walk away an unexplainable pain possessed my body and it only seemed to grow the further he got, that was when I had the epiphany that perhaps William was not as insignificant to me as I belied myself to believe and I was sure Dimitri realized that too thus leaving me to find my way back to William.

I felt sorry watching Dimitri walk away but it didn't hurt, not like William. Dimitri was a good man but not the one for me, of that I was certain now and so taking a deep breath, I regained control of my body and took off. I needed to find William and let him know that it was him I truly loved. Rushing outside I began searching the area in hopes of spotting William though I was fairly certain that by now, with his unnatural speed he'd be back at his castle and I was still stuck here, at Dimitri's hideout in this unknown location.

With a quickly dwindling sense of hope, I began looking for one of William's men in hopes of them taking me to him but nothing but dead bodies could be seen for miles on end. Suddenly the thought of never seeing William registered in my brain causing my breathing to become frantic and heart erratic; my breath came out in short pants and I realized that I may be going through a panic attack. I had never really experienced one but I had seen it once during my younger years in the human nursery when an aged maid went through it, that whole ordeal was scary as hell but going through it myself, it was even more frightening.

I didn't have control over my body anymore and everything was spinning but all I wanted was to find William.... I needed to find William! In my distraught and devastated state, I felt a dismembered leg hinder my way leading me to let out a horrified scream and tried moving back in a speedy motion which caused my whole body to jerk back and soon I found myself falling.

I couldn't do anything about it so I shut my eyes preparing for the heavy impact of the course and rough asphalt on the back of my head when suddenly an abrupt force pulled me up. The familiar touch remained on the base of my waist and I couldn't help but sigh with relief simultaneously fluttering my eyes open. "I thought you left!" I cried out with joy clutching him closer.

"I did but then I realized you needed me to bring you back to him; you don't exactly know how to get to him, do you?" Dimitri's amused tone penetrated the silence. I couldn't help but let out a sob whilst snuggling closer into him; I was so very overwhelmed. "Come on," he murmured whilst ushering me into his arms, carrying me up to his chest so that I was positioned securely against him, my hands clasped around his neck in a tight hold as I felt him sigh with content as my body was pushed further into his; I didn't respond because I didn't know how so instead I chose to remain silent.
