myself i wouldn't let
it get to this point, but
it did.

today was your funeral.
i cried, sobbed, wailed,
screamed. the rest of the guys
tried comforting me, but it
didn't work. at least i saw you
one last time. in your casket.

you didn't look like you.
your face wasn't lit up the same
way. your cheeks were stained
porcelain. you looked frail.
your face painted with a frown.

was that the last emotion you felt?
before you did what you did.
why'd you leave me? our life was just getting started.

we had a future together.
we planned to get married and adopt kids. why'd you go?
