day twenty six:

i finally went to
visit holly, she
wagged her tail
and licked my
cheeks repeatedly.

your grandmother
welcomed me into
a hug, making me
some warm green
tea.

she was still
as friendly as
ever. we talked
for hours on end.

she even pulled
out a scrapbook
she had made
full of your baby
pictures, up until
your death.

we cried together,
laughed together,
and shared memories.

it sent me into
a nostalgia, because
she is so kind and caring,
the same way she
was when you and i
ran to her house in the
middle of the night to
sneak cookies.

holly sat in my
lap most of the time,
she was excited to
see me. ive missed
her so much. 

she's the cutest
dog ever. you know
what? your grandma
actually offered her
to me.

at first, i rejected
it, because she was
a piece of you and your
halemoni needs the
memories more than i
do. she'd be so lonely
without holly.

but she said that
she would be fine.
she has millions
of pictures of you,
and she's getting too
old to take care of
the chocolate brown
puppy.

i decided this might
help me heal, i really
don't know, so i gladly
took holly.

she misses you.
