22. The Only One (Smut/Fluff)

(General POV)

Joey Graceffa is depressed, he has been since he was 16. Daniel noticed some odd behavior coming from his husband, so he makes it his mission to find out what is wrong with Joey.

(Daniel POV)

Joey never eats, laughs, or even talks a lot anymore. I'm hiding in Joey's closet waiting for him to come in, ten minutes later, he does. I look through the crack of the closet door "screw Shane trying to get me to eat! Can't he see I'm fat enough!" I see him grab the picture of me and him on our wedding day "Daniel looks so beautiful, he always looks beautiful. Then there's me, the ugly looking one." Tears fall from his eyes and I can't take it anymore! While Joey was telling himself all these false insults, I open the closet door and jump on him, knocking him down onto the bed "no no no Joey you are not fat nor are you ugly, you're so beautiful" he looks at me with tears "Danny?" I kiss him and move my hands up against his face. "You're not fat, why would you ever think that?" He cries into my shoulder "I'm sorry Daniel" I rub his back and quietly shush him until his cries turn into quiet sobs "don't be sorry Joey, you have nothing to apologize for" he hugs me tight as if I were to disappear "I'm sorry I disappointed you, just please don't leave. I need you, you're the only one who's keeping me here. If you left me, I wouldn't be here anymore, you're my lifeline. You're my anchor, keeping me here, keeping me afloat. Please don't leave me."

I look at Joey and kiss him again, when I pull away I kiss his nose "I'd never leave you, Joey, you are mine forever. You are my love, my life, my everything. You would have to bury me in the ground to get me away from you, you can try every little thing to keep me away from you but it will always fail because you can't drag me away from you. I can't even think of leaving you, we've both had nightmares about one of us leaving and they're called nightmares because we both know that we can't even think of leaving each other nor can we. Joey smiles and tears fall from his eyes "I love you Daniel" he kisses me again and lays back down on the bed with me on top of him "make love to me Danny" I look at Joey with wide eyes "are you sure?" He nods "please Danny, I want you inside me!" (Joey's POV)

I woke up earlier than Daniel so I could work on something very special for him. As I stand up, I groan at the pain coming from my lower region. Damn last night was incredible. I grab a piece of paper before writing something for Daniel, but where am I going to put it?

(Daniel POV)

Waking up, I notice Joey's not beside me anymore "Joey?" Sitting up, I notice a folded piece of paper where Joey once was.

"There are so many reasons. So much to believe in, but there's only one faith I hold true. It's truth. Come downstairs and find your mother to get another note. Love, Joey."

A scavenger hunt? Well okay then. After getting dressed, I rush downstairs to find my mother waiting for me at the bottom of the staircase with a smile and yet another note.

"There are so many moments, like drops in the ocean. But there's only one place I run to. It's you. Your mother will tell you where to find one of my many gifts for you, in that area you will find the next note. Love you. -Joey."

I ask my mother and she tells me to go to my car, I thank her before rushing outside. A smile forms on my face when I see a photo of us from the music video of Don't Wait, flipping it over I see Joey's handwriting

"There are so many questions to ask, but only one answer that lasts. You're the only one never giving up on me. You're the only one, only reason that I breathe. Go to the nearest Starbucks to find your next clue! I love you so much. -Joey."

Smiling at his words, I drive a little too much over the speed limit just to get to the Starbucks. I see Hope sitting at a table by the door, she smiles and hands me a necklace and a note.

"After all is said, after all is done...You're the only one. You're my only one. There are so many hours, that time has no power over the strength of our heartbeat. Come to the closest beach and find me. I love you, Daniel."

I smile at Hope before running out to the beach which was evidently down the street, there I found Joey sitting on a blanket, a single rose in his hand. Taped to his back was another note. I slowly take it off him

"There are so many questions to ask, but only one answer that lasts. You're the only one, never giving up on me. You're the only one, only reason that I breathe. Joey stands, turning to face me. Handing me the rose, I notice tears rushing down his face "what's wrong Joey?" He shakes his head and hugs me, crying softly onto my shoulder. "I love you so much, I love you so, so, so much." Smiling, I kiss Joey's head "I love you so much more Joey, you're my only one." He lifts his head and kisses me "you're my only one" he mumbles against my lips.

Back at the house, Joey and I lay on the couch, the new necklace on my neck and the Don't Wait photo in a frame. "Joey?" He looks at me "yeah Daniel?" "I love you, no matter what. You're so very special to me. You're very important to me, when I see you hating on yourself, possibly harming yourself...it kills me. If you ever have the urge to hurt, come to me and take it out on me. Tell me everything, if you're thinking about taking a metal to your skin, come to me and I'll kiss every part that you find as 'flaws' and you can draw a dash on my wrist with a pen. Those pen marks will signify me taking the pain away from your skin, better me than you. You're the only one I will ever love, the only one who makes me happy. I never want to lose you" Joey smiles, kissing me softly "I love you Daniel."
