30. Jealousy (Angst/Fluff)

(Joey's POV)

"Hey Joey!" I look over at my boyfriend who's getting dressed "why are you up at seven? I thought you go back to sleep after you give Lark her t-r-e-a-t" Daniel chuckles "I'm going out to breakfast with a friend, don't worry. I'll be back to cuddle okay?" Daniel leans down, pressing his lips to mine quickly before leaving "I love you Joey!" "I love you too Daniel!" Even though a small part of me wanted to go with him, I knew that he deserves some time with his friends. I mean, what's the worse thing that could happen?

At eight o'clock, my sister Nicole calls "Joey, you might want to check Instagram" "why?" "Just look at what the fans post then call me back" hanging up, I open my Instagram only to find multiple posts of Daniel and some guy I've never met before. This was definitely not one of Daniel's friends. Jealousy bubbles up inside me as a video plays, the unknown stranger places his hand on Daniel's as he laughs way too hard at something Daniel said. Who does this bitch think he is? Daniel is mine! I've never been the jealous or possessive type, but that's because I've never had a boyfriend like Daniel. Instead of calling Nicole, I call Daniel. "Joey? What's wrong?" I smirk, knowing a perfect way to get him to come home "nothing's wrong Daddy" I heard Daniel clear his throat "J-Joey I'm with a friend right now" yeah right "please Daddy, I need you" "not now Joey, you can wait till I come home" and just like that, he hangs up.

I should feel anger, but more and more jealousy arises. The guy Daniel was with is hot. Scrolling through Instagram, I find a photo that looks like it was taken up close and personal, and they tagged the guy he was with. Alx James. I comment on the girl's post asking her where Daniel and this guy is. She replies almost immediately saying they're at Daniel's favorite cafe. More jealously bubbles to the surface, so Daniel can take this Alx James guy to his favorite cafe but when I ask he says no. I follow the girl before closing the app.

Daniel comes home an hour later fuming. But he is not as mad as me "who the fuck is Alx James?" Daniel stops "what do you mean?" "The guy you were with, some fans told me it was Alx James, but you've never hung out with a guy named Alx James before now" "why were you spying on me?" "I wasn't, you can't underestimate my followers" "well tell your followers to mind their own business!" "They would if this guy wasn't gay! I mean, Daniel I've been burned before. They're just looking out for me!" I push past him, but he grabs my arm "tell your followers to stop spying on me!" Yanking my arm from his grip, I walk outside.

I don't come back in the house, before I open the door, Daniel comes out. "Joey I'm sorry about what happened in there" "it's fine, I should've trusted you." Daniel sits down beside me "I hate to do this to you again but I'm meeting Alx at Target" of course he does. "Okay" "do you want to come meet him? See that he's no competition" he kisses my cheek "not that anyone could compete with you" blushing darkly, I shake my head "no, no. I trust you" Daniel smiles "I'll be back around three okay?" I nod and he walks to his car, blowing me a kiss before he closes the door.

I called Nicole after Daniel left "did you see the photos?" "Yeah and he's not a threat to me and Daniel" "I'm just looking after you Joey, I mean, after what happened with Preston" "Daniel is nothing like him! Daniel actually loves me, he doesn't use me!" After ending the call, I sit on the couch waiting for Daniel. All of a sudden, a call from Daniel appears on my phone "hello?" "Is this Daniel's boyfriend?" Alx. "Yes it is! Why are you calling me from Daniel's phone? Where is my boyfriend?!" "Relax, Daniel is in the bathroom. He was telling me about you, don't worry hunny, you have nothing to worry about with me. Daniel is attractive but he's not my type!" A sigh of relief escapes my lips "even if he was, I'm not someone who'd wreck a perfectly healthy and happy relationship" "thank you! I think we'll be great friends" "so do I, which is another reason why I called. You might want to come down here" "w-why?" He sighs "just because I'm not going after Daniel, it doesn't mean that other people are doing the same thing" my eyes widen "I'll be there in five!"

Speeding down to Target, I enter the store immediately finding Alx "hey, Daniel is washing his hands. He might be a little angry to see you here" I shrug "I'm used to it" Alx points at a blonde haired guy waiting for Daniel "oh hell no!" I storm up to the guy, tapping him on the shoulder "can I help you?" "Yes you can, by not drooling over my boyfriend!" The guy looks at me and scoffs "the raven haired god is your boyfriend?" I nod "you're damn right he is! Keep your thirsty ass away from him, not like he'd ever come for you anyway!" The man rolls his eyes "let's see who he'd come for shall we?!" Is this guy serious?

Walking over to Daniel, my arms are crossed as I glare at him. This'll prove I'm not insane by being jealous. "Hey, so this bitch said that you're his boyfriend. But you're single right? If you are, you'd choose me" I look down at my feet, not really wanting this to happen. From the corner of my eye I see Daniel come over to me, he grabs my hand "I am his boyfriend! Get your thirsty butt away from me!"
I smile to myself as the guy scoffs and storms away. Daniel's grip tightens on my hand "we need to talk when we get home!" I sighed, taking my hand out of his "I'm going home, it was nice meeting you Alx, I'll see you around." Turning on my heel, I exit Target with a frown etched on my face.

Sitting in the living room, I wait for Daniel to come home. I know he's gonna be angry at me for being at target since he doesn't know that Alx called me. The front door opens "Joey?" I stay silent "Joey where are you?" Daniel comes into the living room, he sees me before sitting next to me "Joey-" "before you start, I'm sorry I came to Target. I know you think that I went because Alx was there, but he called me on your phone saying that he'd never take you from a happy and healthy relationship. But he said that just because he won't doesn't mean other people follow the same rule, he told me that there were men looking at you with heart eyes so I should go down there before something happened. I'm sorry, I didn't expect something like that to happen. Do you now get why I was so jealous?! You're gorgeous Daniel! People are gonna take notice!" I get up and head out into the back "Joey wait!" I close the door behind me.

Sitting on the porch swing, Wolf jumps beside me. "Hey sweet boy!" Wolf rests his head on my shoulder as Daniel opens the door "Joey, I'm not mad at you. Yes I'll admit when I first saw you in Target talking to the guy I was a little angry because I thought you followed me. Alx told me everything when you left, he said that I'm lucky to have such a nice and protective boyfriend. And you know what, I'm happy that you're protective because it shows how much you love me." Pulling my head down, he kisses me hotly.

Later that night, I get a call from an unknown number "oh that's Alx! He asked for your number so you two can be friends!" I hit answer and put it on speaker "hello?" "Hey Joey! It's Alx!" "Oh hey, what's up?" "Do you want to hang out tomorrow? We could go catch a movie then go for some lunch!" I look at Daniel and he looks pissed, oh you want to play that game Daniel? "That sounds like a plan!" Smirking, I kiss Daniel's cheek. "Great! I'll text you tomorrow okay?" "Yep! Night!" Hanging up, my phone is thrown to the other couch by Daniel "what was that?" "What do you mean? I'm just hanging out with a friend" Daniel chuckles "you better FaceTime me when you're at the movie and during lunch!" I kiss his nose "don't worry Danny, I only love you. There's no one else! You're adorable when you try to be jealous" "and you're hot when you're jealous Joey" cuddling against him, I smile at how perfect of a boyfriend I have.
