(Daniel's POV)

Today I planned to be productive, productive with Joey. I woke up with a beaming smile on my face, flinging out of bed and towards the bathroom. After showering, I opened the door to see Joey curled against my pillow, the blanket pulled up to his nose. Ruffling my fingers through his hair, I smiled fondly at the sight before me, I probably shouldn't wake him. He looks so peaceful. I was about to leave before deciding to take a photo of the sleepy boy, I definitely want to remember this sight.

When the clock hit two, Joey came down the stairs, a blanket wrapped around him, his hair still disheveled and sleep clear in his eyes. "Hi sleepy boy" with a tired smile, Joey went to the couch. Curling in a ball, Joey fell back asleep. I frowned at this, I wanted to go out with him today. Laying beside him, I smiled as Joey turned over, resting his head on my shoulder. Sitting up, I placed the sleeping boy on my lap, kissing his head. After watching a few movies, Joey woke up only to wrap his arms around me, clinging on. "Why are you so tired today little boy?" Joey shrugs a little, nuzzling his head closer to my neck, his nose brushing against my skin. I rubbed Joey's back, leaving random kisses across his head and face.

I looked down at the boy who was wrapped around me, he was now sitting on my lap, his legs on either side of me and his arms wrapped around my neck. "I love you, my little koala."

(Four Months Later)

While I was working on something, Joey came downstairs immediately noticing me. Jumping on my lap, Joey curled up against my chest. "Well hello to you too Joey" I chuckle, rubbing his arm "hi Danny" he mumbles. As I typed, Joey ended up falling asleep against me, his hands tightening and loosening their grip on me every now and then. Carrying Joey upstairs, I slip him under the covers, removing his arms from around me. Turning to leave, I felt someone grab my arm, a quiet whine following "no...stay." Laying beside him, Joey drapes an arm and leg around me, tightening his grip. Kissing my cheek, Joey rests his head against my neck. I ended up falling asleep too, an arm wrapped around Joey, keeping him secure in my grasp.

The next morning, Joey was back to his normal ways. He was overly energetic, he was basically bouncing on the walls. He came running down the stairs, nearly knocking over Storm. "Hello, Daniel! What're we doing today?" I smiled at his bouncy attitude "just going out with Shyland" Joey cheers "yay!" With a fond shake of my head, Joey sits down in front of me and I could tell his knee was bouncing under the table. I swear, today he's acting like someone who had ten coffees. And it is absolutely adorable.

When the day ends, Joey is clinging to me, absolutely exhausted. I had to carry him into the house as he was too tired to walk on his own. As I was carrying him, he rested his head against my collarbone "I love you, Danny" "I love you more Joey."

After putting Joey to bed, I went downstairs to take the dogs out and finish up some things I left around the house. I heard the creak of the stairs a few moments later, was Joey awake? Lark ran toward the staircase as Joey stepped down, our comforter wrapped around him. "Joey, why did you get out of bed? You're obviously tired" he yawns, rubbing his eyes "you weren't there to cuddle." I smiled at his cute tired voice, resembling a young child "I'm sorry little boy, I'll be up in a few minutes" he whines, walking over to tug at my arm.

Coaxing Joey to go back upstairs, I promised to be up in five minutes. I knew that he wasn't going to go to sleep until I was upstairs, so I started turning off lights and electronics before heading up to bed. Like I predicted, Joey was wide awake, he was sitting up against the headboard with his eyes partially closed. His eyes opened when he saw me come in "Danny" he sleepily smiled, falling back on the bed, pulling the blanket up to his chin. After I got dressed, I went to my side of the bed to see Joey making grabby hands toward me. Slipping under the covers, I pulled Joey close to me. He nuzzled his head under my chin, wrapping his arms and legs tightly around me.

I woke up the next morning to see Joey still completely wrapped around me, his hair disheveled and a faint smile on his lips. Knowing I won't be able to leave without him waking up, I slowly begin removing his arms from around me, wrapping them around my pillow instead. Tip-toeing to the bathroom, I look back to see Joey moving uncomfortably, possibly aware of my absence. As I was brushing my teeth, someone wrapped their arms around my waist. "Did I wake you?" Joey shakes his head, his nose pressing against my back "come back to bed, I wanna cuddle" I smiled "I'll be there in a moment."

Joey ended up falling asleep against me as I rubbed his back, I smiled at the cute scene before me. Joey's adorable, especially when he's cuddly. These moments are few and far between, but when Joey is half asleep, he's a cuddler.

(Six Days Later)

Joey's been acting weird. He hasn't been cuddly for days now, instead, he's keeping his distance from me. When we go to sleep, he's all the way at the edge of his side, his arm wrapped around Lark and body away from me. I don't get it, what happened? I want my koala back!

Today is the seventh day of Joey acting this way, he's walking fifteen feet away from me, sitting all the way on the other side of the couch instead of in my arms. Reaching out to him, Joey just moves farther away. "Joey, what's going on?" "What do you mean?" "Come here!" He shakes his head, wrapping his arms around a pillow "come on Joey, I wanna cuddle!" "Cuddle with Wolf" pouting, I move over so I'm sitting beside him "Joey, what's wrong?" "Nothing Daniel! Just leave it alone!" Pulling him on my lap, he screams and starts squirming around "let me go! Let me go!" Kissing his neck, he relaxes and falls limp against me, cuddling with me. I smiled as he contorted into a ball, his sock covered feet resting on my legs. "Will you tell me what's wrong now?"

Sighing, Joey nods "I just felt like I was too clingy" "too clingy? What are you talking about? Cuddling is not being clingy" he shrugs "I just kept curling up on you when you were trying to work, wanting to be next to you all the time...I just...I feel like I'm suffocating you." I frown at his answer "you're not suffocating me, in fact, I love when you're attached to me. As weird as that sounds. When you're cuddling me, I feel like I'm floating, that I'm on cloud nine. Joey, when we're cuddling, I feel like we're showing our love for each other without words. I love wrapping my arms around you, keeping you safe and protected. I love kissing you, I'd kiss every inch of you if I could. You're absolutely adorable when you're curled up against me, you resemble a literal koala. You're my koala and I love you." Joey looks up at me and smiles, leaning up to kiss me "I love you more Danny" he says before our lips meet.

(Three Years Later)

"Danny?" Joey comes bounding down the stairs, a thick comforter wrapped around him "hello there husband" he giggles, still not used to the new nickname. "Hello husband" I pull him into my lap "how did you sleep?" He shrugs "I was comfortable before you left" smiling, I kiss his cheek "does my little koala need a cuddle?" Sheepishly he nods, resting against my chest, covering the both of us with the comforter. Joey looks up at me, kissing my jawline "I love you" before falling asleep on my shoulder. Rubbing Joey's back, I smile at the cute boy on my lap "I love you more my koala."
