Taehyung and I walked down the sidewalk, on our way home together. I asked if we could stop by his house first, just so my family wouldn't see me with him if he walked by.
Once we had gotten close to Taehyung's house, I pulled out my phone to let my brother know that I wasn't actually dead and on my way home. I felt a few small drops of water on my arms, and realized that it had started raining.
"You should probably start heading home soon, before it gets even worse." Taehyung said as he started walking up his big driveway. I waved, and continued walking down the sidewalk with my phone in my hand. All of a sudden, I felt many more drops of rain fall on my head. And before I knew it, it was pouring like crazy. I turned to see Taehyung opening the front door and calling for me to come inside. I dashed as fast as I could across his huge front yard, trying not to slip on the newly wet grass.
Right before I entered the house and shut the door, I stopped and realized something. I had dropped my phone in the front yard! My eyes widened, and I dashed back into the storm to retrieve it.
The phone was a bit hard to find, but once I found it, I dashed back to the house in record time, and Taehyung shut the door behind me.
"Gomawo... aish, why am I so... clumsy?" I said, catching my breath. That was really sudden... I wasn't aware that it was supposed to rain today. It just started so quickly, and I was already soaked. At least I had my phone, and it wasn't lost in the wet grass somewhere.
"It's raining so hard, maybe you should stay for a little while, at least until the storm dies down a bit. Unless you want to call your family to pick you up..." Taehyung mentioned.
"No, it's fine, I'll stay here!" I blurted out quickly. "The storm started so fast, it's probably gonna be really quick. I can wait that long." I knew that I would get in trouble if my family knew I was here and not at Sora's, so I would rather wait here and lie to them than have them come pick me up.
"So maybe you should at least text them." Taehyung replied. I nodded, opening up the messenger app.
Me:
I'll be home a bit late because of the rain, I'm at Sora's house.
Right after I pressed the send button, my phone glitched out and turned off. What? I pressed the power button, and it wasn't turning back on. I slowly realized that my phone must have gotten soaked as well, and was now broken from all the water.
"Aiiish... I shouldn't have dropped my phone in the grass, now it's broken!" I complained. Now what was I supposed to do?
"Wait, hold on a second." Taehyung said. He walked out of the room, and came back a few minutes later with a bag of rice and a big, warm, towel. "Wrap yourself in this towel, and then put your phone in the bag of rice."
"Wae?" I asked.
"Because it'll absorb all the water from your phone and then it should work again." Taehyung said. I grabbed the bag of rice out of his hand, and placed my phone inside of it. As I did that, Taehyung wrapped the towel over my shoulders. I felt myself blush. Aigoo, I hope he didn't notice!
"There, all better." Taehyung said, stepping back. "Do you want to use my phone to text your parents?"
"Uh sure- wait a second." I replied. I thought about it for a second, and then face palmed myself. "I don't have their numbers memorized because it's all in my phone..."
