   Daniel. Daniel James Seavey.

You knew he liked you, but never made a move. And you were happy about that.

One day you and the boys were in their backyard, doing skateboard tricks, putting stories on Snapchat, and chatting to each other.

Out of the corner of your eye you could see Daniel look at you a couple times. He was talking to Jonah.

You tried to ignore it, turning back to watch Zach fall off his skateboard for what seemed like the 100th time today.

A little while later, you could hear footsteps coming closer to you from behind, causing you to hold your breath, hoping it wasn't who you thought it was.

However, sure enough, the person touched your shoulder, causing you to turn around. It was Daniel.

"Hi Daniel." You manage to say, a slight smile on your lips.

"Hey y/n/n, can I talk to you for a sec?" He asks, his cheeks turning red.

You nod and follow Daniel towards the side of the house.

He sighs and looks at the ground, shutting his eyes tightly.

"Um, I was just wondering-" Daniel trails on, scratching the back of his neck.

Your heart felt as if it were going to explode inside your chest; you couldn't breathe.

"Yes?" You ask, your voice slightly cracking.

"Do- do you wanna go to dinner with me tomorrow night?" He finally says, a large sigh leaving his chapped lips.

"Daniel, I- I can't." You stutter.

"Why?" You could see the heartbreak in his eyes, and you could feel your heart break inside your chest.

"I like someone else." You mumble, looking anywhere but the eyes of the sad boy in front of you.

"Wha- who?" He asks.

You try to process everything that had happened in the last 3 minutes. You didn't want to tell him, in fear that you would ruin his friendship with his best friend. But, lying to him would be even worse.

Without thinking, you finally look Daniel in the eyes, and whisper;

"Jack."
