*Narrator's POV*
Back in New York, Antonio and Omar had just gotten done with a night of clubbing. When they exited the club, Antonio sighed as he checked his phone one last time. He stared at the text he had sent Adrienne a few minutes ago and was beginning to wonder if it was too much.
Omar looked at his friend worriedly. Sure, Antonio was a certified heartbreaker with the ladies but to Omar he was just another guy he hung out with. He wasn't acting himself and Omar was beginning to wonder if Adrienne had something to do with it.
"A watched pot never boils.", he pointed out when he noticed Antonio check his phone again. "She's probably asleep. Don't trip over it."
Antonio sighed again. "I know...but I don't wanna screw things up this time...I think I actually care this time."
Omar stopped dead in his tracks. Antonio. Smash and pass Antonio...didn't wanna mess things up this time? He had feelings. Omar would be sure to thank Adrienne when she got back.
"Whatever happened to getting some and then calling it a day?", he asked.
Antonio shrugged. "I got some...I just think I want more..."
Omar didn't know whether he was more surprised the Adrienne had given it to him so quickly or that Antonio was actually showing signs of wantingni stay with a girl for more than two weeks. He decided to go with the second option. "That doesn't mean...?" He didn't want to jump to conclusions.
"No, dumbass. I mean 'more' as in an actual relationship."
Okay, he called me a dumbass. The old Antonio is still somewhere inside there, Thought Omar. "You're serious?"
Antonio nodded. "You don't think her and Royce have something going on, do you ?", his tone went from a lovesick puppy to jealous in an instant.
Omar shook his head "Nah, I mean, Royce is too professional and serious for all that type of stuff."
Antonio figured Omar was right. "Yeah, that's true."
Omar gave a smirk. "Estooooy enamorado.", he sang in a drunken, off-key tone.
Antonio raised an eyebrow. "I can still beat your ass, Omar.", he said defensively.
Omar laughed. It was funny seeing Antonio like this. "Alright. I'll stop." Then another thought came to him and he got serious. "Just don't play around with Adrienne's emotions, okay?', he said like a protective older brother. He didn't want to see her get her.
It was Antonio's turn to get serious. "Omar, I told you, I actually care about this girl."
