CHAPTER 3

Waking up early is so hard after being used to waking up so late. After a quick shower and changing into my outfit which is jeans, shirt and sneakers, I went in the dining room to find my grandparents already waiting for me.

"Good morning guys!" I greeted them while kissing them on the cheeks.

"Someone is happy today I see."

"Not really, but I'm trying to be positive about school. I hope I won't be bullied this time."

"Oh sweetie, you know you can fight them. What the hell are you doing letting those kids hurt you when you've been mastering martial arts since you were little."

"I tried defending myself remember ?"

"But that was 8 years ago. Surely you can beat the shit out of them if  you want."

"Woah there grandma, you swear like a sailor sometimes. Anyway, its just for a year and I won't be bullied anymore. I better be going, I don't wanna be late on the first day."

"Ok bye sweetie! We'll wait for you before we leave ok? Take care, we love you!"

"Ok! Bye guys!"

Arriving at school, I quickly went to my locker to put my things. Our schedules were sent last week. I quickly put my things and rush to our room since I want to be the first to arrive there so I can choose my seat unless our teacher has made a sitting arrangement. Rounding a corner I bumped to someone and with the force it sent me butt first on the floor. Wincing from the pain I looked at the person I bumped into and that's when I wished I never rushed to our room.

"What are you staring at?" Light Rivers, our schools bad boy was the one I bumped into and he's currently scowling at me.

"I'm so sorry." I muttered while trying to get up. what shocked me more is when he helped me up. I am  so shocked that I just stood there, wide eyed, mouth gaping like a fish.

Unfortunately it wasn't just me who was shocked but all the students in the hallway. And with my luck, one of them is Coleen, and let me tell you this, she has been obsessed with Light since forever. She's gaping like me and when our eyes met, she glared at me so fiercely I'm surprised I'm not dead yet.

"Don't mind them princess, they can't hurt you."

I let out an unlady like snort and whispered.

"They already did."

"What?!"

"Nothing, look I'm  really sorry for bumping into you. You can take my lunch or my money just don't hurt me please."

"What the hell are you talking about? I'm not gonna take your lunch or money, I have my own. What makes you think that I'll take yours?"

"Uh, uhm, I don't know?"

Light just looked at me like I'm crazy and sighed.

"Just don't bump into me again do you understand?"

"Yes sir!"

"Are you mocking me princess?"

"No no no!"

I all but run out of there but unfortunately, Coleen and her friends or followers saw me and dragged me to the ladies room. I already know what's gonna happen so I just stand there and wait. This happens a lot so I know how to push their buttons especially Coleen.

Coleen started glaring at me and I just stood there with a blank expression that seems to infuriate her more.

"You are such a slut! You just can't keep to yourself huh? You have to worm yourself to guys so they can notice you. And you had the guts to go after Light?! It seems as if you haven't learned your lesson, bitch."

After her rant, she smirked then waved at her followers. They started trapping me by the sink. Samantha, Coleen's right hand slapped me so hard my face started to go numb. I'm pretty sure a hand mark is visible in my burning cheeks. They started punching me, kicking, slapping and so much more. My lips are bleeding and my body hurts but I still remained silent. When they were done they immediately left laughing with each other. On their way out of the door, their laughing stopped. Coleen began stuttering while blushing.

"H-hi Light. What can I do for you?"

Light just stared at her then looked at me. I looked down, humiliated by my state. Suddenly, I'm being lifted. I looked at Light who seems to be oblivious to Coleen and her friends who stood still by the door. They're as shocked as I was. When we were by the door, Light turned to Coleen and glared at her.

"Expect to be called at the principal's office."

With those words, Light turned to leave. He headed towards the nurses station. When we reached there, he opened the door and immediately sat me by the bed.

The nurse immediately tended to my injuries. Light just stared at me and me, being unable to hold his gaze looked everywhere else besides him.

When the nurse finished tending to my wounds and gave me some pain relievers, Light started to leave. I immediately grab his hand without thinking. He stiffened but didn't shake of my hand.

"Thank you." I whispered.

"Its nothing."

He then left without looking back. Sighing, I leaned back on the bed. This year is not looking bright for me. With Coleen always finding reasons to torment and hurt me, I can't even try to imagine my life leading to a good and fun time this year. Might as well do what I do best, stay on the shadows.
