CHAPTER 17

The confrontation between Coleen and I spread like wildfire and has been the center of conversation and rumor mill the entire week. Today's friday and tomorrow's the party. I've been busy the whole week with the party planners. Everything is arranged and the invitations were already sent.

What the people know is that the party is a charity event hosted by the Duane empire and every delegates and partners and associates were invited meaning that most of the students at school will be attending the party.

Miranda and Coleen had cornered me at the house and told me to do the usual which is to remove myself from the premises and avoid being seen by anyone. Well they were in for a big surprise, everyone will.

Light, much to my surprise asked to be my escort for the night which I gladly accepted. The guys and Feiye have been teasing me and Light nonstop when they learned of it. We just laughed it out and paid them no mind.

The news of the charity event is the talk of the town and is rumored to be the grandest party to be hosted by the empire. Not only were the business magnates invited but also politicians, celebrities and other famous people. It is said that it is the largest gathering of the rich people ever made and with the connections of the Duane's, it is possible. The media will be present but not within the party. Chelsea, my assistant, have been notifying me of any updates on the planning. The party will be held at one of our hotels. Those from overseas will have their suites and even the others who wants a room for themselves were accommodated.

Today, the school is buzzing with the talk about the party. The students are excited to be part of the prestigious charity event. They were flocking Coleen asking for details on the party and Coleen is clueless about it. I explicitly told the planners to keep Miranda and Coleen in the dark or else there will be no party to attend and the fault will be on them. Of course the fear of ruining their reputation prompted them to follow everything I said. If the party is a success, they'll be my official planners.

Feiye and I were laughing when we heard Coleen tell the students that it'll be like the other charity events they've hosted, with ladies being auctioned for a date with them and the likes. She's digging her own grave with everything she's telling them. We told the guys what she's been saying and they too laughed.

I am nervous and excited at the same time for tomorrow and I'm thankful that Light promised that he will be with me the whole time. I don't care what the people will say and neither does he. All that matters is that I'll be surrounded by the people I love and care.

The students sneer and push me still, some even mock me when I'm alone. I just ignore them and Feiye told me that ignoring them only causes them to act harsher towards me. In the end, we just let them be coz it's only a matter of time before all of them will regret everything they've done to me and I can't wait.
