-------------------------------------------
The auctioning of items like antiques, paintings, house and lots and jewelries went well, so well infact that the charity chosen for the proceeds will be able to use it for about five years.
The most intriguing part of the auctioning was when the heir of Stanton and Fender battled to buy a diamond studded necklace with a diamond heart shaped pendant and on the center of the pendant is a pink diamond embedded on it. The auctioneer said that it is the only diamond in the world where you can find such a diamond. Of course with the rarity of the piece, the price escalated from 100,000 thousand dollars to a million in a matter of minutes. When it became obvious that Light and Nathan were both into buying the item, the other bidders decided to give way and just watch who'll win.
When the bid reached to 4 million dollars, our group were anticipating whose gonna back down and we almost cheered when we saw Nathan pale at the amount it escalated. Light seemed unaffected by the amount and acted cool and relaxed.
Nathan bid 4,050,000 then Light raised it 50,000 thousand more. Miranda and Coleen were both cheering Nathan as he raised the bid to 50,000 thousand more also.
"Maybe the witches were expecting their lovely Nathan to give the necklace to Connie." Feiye told me and we both giggled. The guys explained to us why they always call Coleen Connie, they said that it's short for conniving bitch coz that's what she is and it rhymes with her name. Feiye and I were both remembering that moment and we had problem holding out our laughter.
The guys heard us and they to have a hard time keeping their laughter too. Light smirked and raised the bid to 4,500,000 dollars. There were gasps of surprise and the attention went to Nathan whose shaking his head in defeat. The auctioneer called on to Nathan and started saying going once, going twice and then he shouted. "Sold to Mr. Light Stanton for four million and five hundred thousand dollars!"
People started clapping when the war between the heirs was done. We were joking at Light for showing off and he just shrugged and wiped an imaginary lint off his shoulder.
"So, who's the lucky lady?" Drew asked Light after the clapping died down and the auctioning continued.
"That's for me to know and for you to find out." Light answered.
"I know who your giving the necklace to." We all turned to Gordon and we laughed at him for he is making googly eyes at Light. "Oh honey, I'm so happy you spent millions for me!" He added fanning himself.
"Yeah keep dreaming Gordon, you're good at it." Light fired back smirking.
"Guys stop it, were making a scene now." Feiye said to all of us and that's when we took note of the stares.
"Someone's pissed." Grey tilted his head to Nathan who glares at Light.
"Funny you notice that. Look at the witches, their glaring daggers at our baby girl." And would you look at that, they really are glaring at me.
"As if that's new. Don't mind them and lets enjoy the evening. It is my party after all." I told them and we ignored them. Knowing Miranda and Coleen, they'd be more incensed by our indifference to their glaring.
When the auctioning and bidding was done, the party started. Those who were older opted to leave early and let the younger ones to party. Before they leave, they stopped by our table for a few pleasantries and of course let me know of their future plans with our company. It's a good thing that Chelsea is with me to divert those who linger too much. When the party was in full swing, our group decided to head to the penthouse and have our own celebration. I was being mugged by well wishers that I'm starting to feel dizzy so we ditched the party.
By the time we reached the penthouse, we were exhausted and just flopped by the living room.
"Ugh! I can already imagine what's gonna happen on monday!" I whined and rested my head on Lights' shoulder.
"Well I can already imagine tomorrow's headlines. I bet your in every newspapers front page. "Duane Empire's heiress: Revealed!", that's most probably their front liner." Feiye quoted.
"It's a good thing Connors' parents' already fixed my security. Man those guys look tough!" I praised high fiving with Connor.
"Yeah, mom got worried you'll be harassed by paparazzies so she arranged for some of our best agents." Connor informed us.
I was just about to say something when my stomach rumbled loudly and I instantly flushed.
"I didn't get to eat because of all their stares and I'm hungry!"
"No need to be defensive now baby girl. We all have not eaten properly. Our table was the center attention and they were also curious with our group." Grey tried to console me and the others agreed.
"Who wants some mean pizza!" Aden screamed and we let him order since he's too excited about it.
"Can we skip class for a whole week?" I asked them.
"Woah! Is that the nerd who never misses any class talking?" Gordon asked mockingly.
"Hey! I'm bad ass! I went to detention for a whole week remember? And I pack a mean punch!" I boasted winking at Light. We laughed at that but Feiye interrupted us.
"Stop for a second and explain this inside joke that you guys know about. I hate being left out!"
Gordon then told her what happened when I first met all of them and not for long she's also laughing with us. She knows I was trained and is still training to protect myself and she knows what I can do coz she already saw me train.
"Skye kicked her trainers' ass when I saw them train ain't that right Skye?" Feiye asked.
"I did not. I just did what I was trained to do."
"You kicked his ass. He may have said that he's getting old for you but you still kicked his ass." Feiye insisted.
"Who's trainer are we talking about here? We might know him coz we've trained with a lot of guys." Drew asked.
"He's Ssgt. Sullivan, US ex-marine corp. sniper." I answered.
"A SNIPER! He's a sniper?! Why the hell would a sniper train you!" Feiye was almost hysterical and the guys also looked pretty shocked.
"He was a friend of mom and he doesn't like training anybody but he made an exemption for me."
"Why would you want an ex-marine corp sniper to train you?" Aden asked incredulously.
"He's the best for me. Snipers are not only good with long range shooting, they were also taught on how to sneak up on enemies, kill with any weapon available or even without any weapon and with their intense physical training, they can work alone. Sulli taught me everything I need to know to protect myself especially now that I'm exposed. I can't always count on my bodyguards to protect me. You do understand that right?"
"Yeah, that's one of the reasons we train." Grey agreed.
"Our life, no matter how much we want it to be normal will never happen. A huge responsibility is trusted on us and as young as we are, we need to grow up faster than our peers to be able to handle our inevitable future." Light said seriously and although no one uttered a single word afterwards, all of us were in agreement. Our journey won't be easy, a lot of times it will get tough but we'll get through with each of us supporting one another.
