Dressed in an elegant gown, I stared at my reflection. The girl staring back at me looks so much like me but also different at the same time. My hair falls on my back in soft curls it's almost unbelievable how beautiful and shiny it looks. Even my make up is fantastic. I pleaded for a more natural look and less make up as possible. Charlie, my gay stylist was more than happy to oblige saying that I didn't need too much make up coz I'm already gorgeous without it.
We're here at the penthouse where the charity event is being held. The media is crowding the area since this morning. I've been here since last night to help with the last minute touch ups. The place is beautifully arranged. A stage is set and the tables were around the hall and in the middle is bare where people can dance.
Outside, a red carpet and a place for the media is saved to avoid flocking the guests.
The announcement will be held before dinner, then the auctioning of antiques, house and lots, jewelries and many more. After that, the party will continue till all the guests leave.
Before the announcement, social gathering and greetings will be expected and I will only be arriving at the time of the announcement to avoid the witches trying to throw me out coz I know that's the first thing they will do if they see me.
Light will soon arrive and I'm still staring at my reflection. Charlie and Chelsea were both gushing behind me praising me and themselves.
"Stop it you guys, you're making me jittery." I said but smiled nonetheless.
"Oh shut it, we're just so proud and excited for you. You look amazing!" Charlie exclaimed, clapping his hands excitedly.
"You are gonna turn so many heads they'll have stiff necks by the end of the night. Ugh, I'm so jealous of you girl, if I'm a man I'd totally hit on you." Charlie added causing the three of us into fits of laughter.
"Charlie that's gross! Besides, you are a man." I pointed out.
Charlie gasps exaggeratedly while holding his heart. "You did not just say that! I'm a lady! And I expect you to treat me as such or I will vanish you from this world."
Chelsea and I laughed hysterically which was abruptly stopped when we heard a knock on the door.
"That must be Light. Can you guys get him while I go find my purse?" I asked no one in particular.
"You can go Charlie since you haven't met Mr. Stanton." Chelsea pushed Charlie to the door with a glint in her eyes. I just shook my head and went to my room to get my purse.
When I went out, I almost burst into laughter at the comical tableu I saw. Chelsea was hunch back by the table trying so hard not to laugh while Light was at the door looking so handsome but uncomfortable and Charlie infront of him, his eyes twinkling and his hands grasping Lights' shoulder. I cleared my throat to gain their attention and Charlie suddenly turned to me and said.
"I found my future husband!"
The look of horror in Lights' face finally did it and I burst into laughter followed by Chelsea.
Somehow, after a few minutes, we managed to control ourselves and I finally looked at Light whose staring at me intently. I immediately felt my cheeks go hot and I know I'm blushing like mad.
"Stop staring." I muttered.
"Wow, you look amazing Skye. You're so beautiful." He said sincerely.
"Thanks." I don't know why I'm suddenly shy around him but I can't help it.
"Shall we?" He asks, offering his hands smiling.
"We shall." I smiled back. "See you guys at the party!" I said to my two new friends. They both nodded and waved.
