CHAPTER 28

Middletown is a small town with most of its land owned by Blake's family. The people here are warm and welcoming and although they know we are rich kids, most of the folks here treats us normally with the occational awed glances and enthusiastistic greetings. We've decided to spend our "early weekend" here, away from the drama.

The boys have been here countless of times already and they kept bragging on how cool the town is if you wanted some peace and quiet. There is also a lake where we planned to head on to later and also visit the farms and local businesses. Blakes' vacation house is situated near the lake and a bit far from the town folk's houses. Feiye and I will be sharing a room and the guys will have the other rooms. The house is simple and has a homey feeling to it.

According to the guys, they've made some changes during the courses that they've stayed here and have since declared the house their own on their first stay here. Blakes' parents didn't mind and rather encouraged the guys to come here than go to other places where they will have trouble finding them in cases of emergencies.

Our room is on the secondth floor with an expectacular view of the lake and a nearby mountain range. I was in constant awe with the place like a child on her first visit to disney land having grown up in the city. After fixing our luggages, we went downstairs to find the guys lounging by the living room waiting for us both.

"So, what do you girls want to do first?" Light asked us smiling.

"Let's go grab something to eat first, I'm starved!" I whined rubbing my belly.

They laughed at my pitiful state and joke about having an elephant's stomach. They took us to a local diner that they say serves a mean burger and fries and spicy chicken wings. Feiye ordered burger and iced tea while the guys ordered the spicy chicken. They again laughed at me when I ordered all three, burger, fries and spicy chicken wings, and coke.

"What? I'm hungry!" I said defensively at their amused gazes.

"Don't mind them honey, a girl has got to love her food." Rita, the owner/waitress, told me fondly after taking note of my order. I beamed at her and poked my tongue at my friends.

We shared a few jokes while waiting for our orders and talked about our plans for our weekend. We decided to head to the nearest grocery store to buy stock and everything we needed. Then we'll rest for a bit and have barbeque by the lake later and just hang out there. When our food arrived, I was the first to dig in and I can't help the moan that escaped my mouth. The food is awesome! It may be just a simple dish but it's the best I've had before. We ate silently and before we knew it the food is gone and I am full and happy.

On our way out of the diner, Rita came to me and gave me something in a box that smells utterly decadent. She told me it's welcome gift and to make sure that Feiye and I should not let the guys get a hold of it first because we wont be able to get a taste of it once the guys take it. I was just about to ask her what it is when she rushed inside the diner. I went to my friends who were patiently waiting for me. When the guys saw me holding the box, they grinned and went to grab it. Because I was expecting it, I easily maneuvered it out of their hold and grinned wickedly.

"Rita told me not to let you guys get a hold of my gift. And because she gave it to me and not to you, you don't have any say on this." I said walking to the parked van. Feiye followed me sporting a wicked grin herself. Once we were seated, we opened the box and in there is a cheesecake. The decadent smell of the cheesecake spread in the van making the guys groan and eyed the cheesecake hungrily.

"If you love this cake so much that you guys are making those ridiculous puppydog eyes, why didn't you just you know, buy one?" Feiye asked annoyed at them.
