I woke up rejuvenated and full of energy even though I slept late. I did my daily routine and joined my grandparents for breakfast. They can't help but comment on my good mood.
"My my, someone's happy today." Grandma teased.
"That I am!" I admitted smiling.
"Your smile is contagious dear, even our helps are smiling when they usually are too serious." Grandpa noticed.
"That's good then, isn't it grandma? By the way, how was dinner with Ben and Ana?"
"Oh it was fabulous. We had lots of common things to talk and do. We're extending our stay here as a matter of fact." Grandma answered, her face liting up.
"Yes! I always miss you both whenever you leave." I pouted at them.
"You silly child, don't worry. After we've arranged for our other engagements we'll be spending a lot of time with you here." Grandpa assured me laughing.
We soon heard the doorbell ring and saw Light ushered by a maid. I stood and greeted him.
"Hey! Have you eaten your breakfast yet?"
"Hey you, I've already eaten. Good morning Sir, Ma'am." Light greeted my grandparents after hugging and kissing my cheeks.
"Call us grandma and grandpa dear, you're already part of our family." Grandma insisted.
"I'll just go get my things and we'll go." I said and hurriedly went to my room to get ready.
When I went down, Light and my grandparents were laughing and I can't help but feel happy at their acceptance. When they saw me approaching they all stood up and we've said our goodbyes.
On our way to school, we just talked.
"Are you still nervous?" Light asked worriedly glancing my way.
"Surprisingly, I don't." I answered truthfully.
"That's my girl." He said taking hold of my hand.
Soon we arrived at school. The students know the car belongs to Light and they waited for him to go out. As I am removing my seatbelt and grabbing my bag, Light has already gone out and opened my door. I smiled at him as he took hold of my hand.
We walked hand in hand to our friends who were smirking at us.
"Is it just me or does this feel like deja vu to you?" I whispered to him remembering what happened at his parents' company.
"It sure feels like it baby girl." He answered trying to contain his laughter.
When we reached our friends they greeted us and of course teased us. We paid the other students no mind and just talked to each other.
I can't help but get the feeling as if someone's staring at me and I couldn't have been wrong. Coleen as usual is glaring daggers at me. She's so obsessed in hating me and as much as I hate her, I can't help but pity her. Miranda raised her in belief that the only way to live is to suck up on rich people and belittle those who aren't. She'll never know what it feels to have true friends, to enjoy the simple things in life and to live with no hatred in her heart.
Class soon started and our daily routine is again in progress but the inevitable change is imminent. No matter how much I try to avoid the spot light, it just follows me everywhere I go.
By lunch I was literally exhausted not from our subjects but from the students and teachers who put subtlety and persistence to a whole new level. Plastics are everywhere and if it weren't for the guys' anti social group, I would've suffered more.
It soon became apparent that they would stop at nothing to get close to me and I have no tolerance for them hounding me. I am literally at my wits end and my patience is running out.
My friends were grim and we were all in deep thought in what to do to get them leave me alone. We didn't notice a group of girls approach us. I was undecided if they were brave for approaching us or just plain stupid to notice that we don't want company.
"Hey Skye! So we were like wondering if you would like want to hang out with us after school. We go to this like amazing boutique to shop and then go to the salon to like get our hairs and nails done." The blond with fake tan said smiling at me as fake as her boobs.
"Hmm, I remember you four." I said calmly. They fidgeted on their feet nervous. "I remember you slapping me, pulling my hair, flushing my assignments in the toilet, banging my head on every hard surface you find." I listed and with every word I say they flinch.
"That's just like ten percent of like what you like did to me." I said mockingly. "So what change?" I asked.
"We've always wanted to be your friend." The one beside the fake-tanned blond said.
"Oh right. You've always wanted to be friends with the one you like to call ugly nerd, or poor scholar bitch, or the human punching bag!" I sarcastically uttered.
"We didn't mean any of those!" Fake-tanned blond said indignantly. You can see that she's barely managing to contain her anger.
"Of course you didn't! I mean, who would want to hurt the duane empires' heiress! She could easily pull the plug of your companies! Am I right?" I asked with thick sarcasm.
Blanching, all four of them were momentarily speechless. "Now, I want you to tell me the truth, why would you want to be friends with me now?" I asked as calmly as I could.
They hesitated before fake-tanned blond who I guessed is their leader answered me. "Because we now know who you really are."
"There! That's not so hard isn't it? Now, I want you to go back to your friends and leave me alone. I want you to spread the news to those who wants to be friends with me that I will only entertain those who doesn't have any ulterior motive and if I find out that they do have motives, I will not hesitate to let them pay." I said sweetly. "Oh and if I learn that you twisted what I said you can start thinking on how to tell your parents why your family is on its way to bankruptcy."
They immediately left our group as if the devil himself is after them. As I faced my friends, they were all grinning at me.
"That's so wicked! I wish I could do that but my temper has a short fuse so I wouldn't be able to pull that stunt." Feiye said grinning from ear to ear.
"You baby girl just kicked their asses." Connor patted my head chuckling.
"I don't even think I could do what I said, legal wise. But it felt good!" I turned to Light and he to is grinning at me.
Our moods lifted considerably and we spent our lunch like we usually do.
The rest of the day went a lot better. I guess the news have already spread and the students looked apprehensive in approaching me. That's okay with me because I would rather have a small group of real friends than have tons of fake friends.
