I have a happy place I have made in my head, so when things get really bad, I can make it all disappear.
Of course, sometimes it doesn't work, but sometimes it does.
What's my happy place, you ask?
I have two happy places.
One is a clear meadow. It's full of lavender and other colorful flowers, along with tall grasses. There is one willow tree, and I'm usually lying under it.
Clear, blue skies above me, with some cotton-candy-shaped clouds. It's around 75 degrees. No animals, no people. There are a few small hills in the distance, the rest is flat lands. It's beautiful.
My second happy place is a beach. Not just any beach, a tropical beach in Florida. The waves crash gently on the shore, almost carefully.
Beautiful sea shells get washed up on the shore, only to get pulled back into the salty sea water. I sit on the beach, just watching the waves and the incredible sunset in the distance. It's around 70 degrees. Again, no one is there. It's beautiful.
So, whenever I'm going through a stressful situation, I can't sleep, or I'm getting dark thoughts, I just let myself disappear to one of these places. Earbuds help me to disappear quicker, since they block out all other noises.
Whenever I start to lose myself, I just disappear.
I disappear to my happy place.
