Encounter

I wanted to tell you guys about a strange encounter I had on my church fall retreat this weekend.

We were having service Saturday night, there was music and everything. Our pastor, Matthew, was telling stories.

Then, we all sat at a foldable table together, each with pieces of bread and cranberry juice.

Background: In the Bible, right before Jesus was going to be crucified, he and his deciples had one last feast together, also known as "the last supper". The bread is meant to represent Jesus's body, and the wine (or cranberry juice) was to represent Jesus's blood.

Matthew then stood by the table and said a few words, and then we all bowed our heads and closed our eyes to pray. I can't remember exactly what words came out of Matthew's mouth, but I almost felt something telling me something;

"You're going to be okay Kaitlyn. I don't hate you. You are loved."

I couldn't hold back my tears anymore.

As tears were streaming down my face, I heard others sniffling too. I hoped I wasn't the only one crying.

After that, we ate the bread and juice and talked.

The next day, we went to morning service. I didn't exactly cry, I teared up because it was our last service.

Afterwards, I stopped Matthew and asked if I could talk with him. He sat down with me, and I told him what happened. I couldn't help but cry. He prayed for me, and said that he hopes that I know that everyone there loves me, but not as much as God does.

Those thoughts comfort me as I go through a lot of things at the moment. It helps me remember that I am strong, I am loved, and I will survive all of this guy drama and anxiety.

More on that tomorrow...😂

Goodnight everyone, I love you all <3
